DIY Garden Trommel

I demo the trommel I build for processing soil from our lot.
The dirt, what little we have, is full of sticks and rocks. the trommel sifts out all the sticks and rocks so we have good soil for the garden.

Glue large bottle cap to the motor to stop the belt from falling off. Great idea.

Just a bit wet yet, at the perfect moisture or close to it soil breaks down much better.

Doing the same to my front yard; but the trommel doesn't break down clay lumps. Bit if work, but the prior owner dumped an unknown (LARGE) quantity of little red lava rocks, so thick I cannot drive a shovel through them.

Is it on an angle? Is the front higher than the back?

Very slight. Maybe 1/4 inch per two feet. Our ground isn't exactly level so I have to block it up to get the angle right.
