Amazing the engineering of this razor....WOW! Also amazing how this could have been created and manufactured in the late 50’s, and big companies could not make anything like it today! It is like a fine precision watch! Thanks again for another cool educational video!👍

Great video. It was interesting to see how the razor comes apart and all the pieces.

I am new to Gillette DE's and I am absorbing a lot of the finer points. Only thing is I have spent a ton of money buying prime examples. British rhodium models and sets of the diamond knurled American offerings are my favorites. In between the razors, soaps, lotions, blades and balms I have never had better shaves in my life! Some of my razors are like shaving with fine jewelry. Thanks!

I have the Gilette slim model 1967 ( M-3). Is repairable? Because mine does not have the 2 small holes to insert the plier down there to unscrew it. Please help if you know someone!

Yes. We do those every day no problem.

that peice you take off with the pliers on the bottom, I was wondering if that's something you guys can replace? I bought one of these broken and as far as I can tell that's all its missing, I have the original spring that was in there too. Edit: its not this exact model but the E1 1959 model

Great video. As an aside, does gillette or any major "name" company make NEW and modern collectors sets like they used to in the early to mid 1900s (like the sets that were sold during WWI, WWII, the aristocrat, executive, etc)

I just found my dad's it's been used quite a bit but still looks pretty good and it's in the original case. Edit- unrelated to the fat boy but still cool I think I just found another razor of my dad's. It's seems to be a GEM micromatic single edge

I wish revamping a super adjustable 84 or 89 whatever the short handle one is ive done all the surface cleaning I can it still clicks on adjustments good and tightens down with final quarter turn good but my obsessive need to disassemble and clean and polish ever piece cant really be satisfied on this jerk of a model 🤔😕
