Hi everyone! I hope you're all having a great week. Sorry I'm off schedule again - after it happens once it's so difficult to catch up, but I'm trying! Enjoy the new DIY & let me know which candle from this video is your favorite. I'll be working as hard as I can to get back on track with the Friday / Sunday upload schedule. A new Wreck This Journal will be coming soon along with tons of fun DIYs & more! Thank you all for your support. ♥︎ Sarah

Sarah, I understand that your demographic is probably overwhelmingly younger than older viewers like me who have been in the work force for 10 -- even 20 -- years. However, I have to say I really like the more grown-up type of DIYs you do such as these gothic candles and wish you'd do more of them. Don't get me wrong; I love your creativity and get inspired by all the different ways to use duct tape (the duct tape pencil bags and using decorative snake skin duct tape to decorate plain, boring binders are a couple of my favorites), mixing melt-and-pour soap to create beautiful works of art, the various ways of creating beautiful candles, etc. However, not all of us attend school or are into creating our own school supplies (although those same supplies could be used for the office if the theme wasn't geared toward youngsters). i love being able to put a personal spin on office supplies that i bring from home as a way to make my job a little more interesting. Just something for you to think about, please. Whatever you decide, I wish you and your channel continued success and look forward to more videos.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the video. I enjoy more grown-up DIYs such as this one too, especially since they are more practical. The plan is to buy my first house around the spring of 2018, hopefully, so I will be dabbling in more room decor & possibly bigger projects (since I will finally have a garage). I'll still have a mix of younger stuff but the thought of more balance has definitely been on my mind. Thank you so much for your support.

You can’t really get to bad of a burn if it hits your skin. I dip my finger in those was melter things because it makes little finger prints. It doesn’t hurt it’s just a bit hot. It cools in seconds.

Back in the 1970's these were very popular. I saw some as big as 18-24 inches high that looked like castles. These would be a lot easier to make. Nice how to video.

Love candles. Years ago I made sand candles great gifts and very unique. Another great way to use candle pieces. Can use for any candle creation. Go to a garage sale and buy old pans.

You could take the wick from the larger colored candles and put them in the small pillar ones. That way you can hold the candle from the wick and keep your hand away from the lid. Also it gives you a larger wick just in case you do want to actually burn it. Overall awesome job!

Oh my God that's so AWSOME!Recently, I haven't seen actual good diy's on youtube, but this video really got me impressed. Some of the candles look like those rocks from down the oceans, and all of them are terrific pieces of art. My favourite was the light purple one, although I like them all. Great work Sarah!

Would it be worth placing a thick straw, or even something thicker around the wick? Then, after you have created the water candle, you remove the straw (or whatever) you still have access to the wick.
@kelseymaypole70486 жыл бұрын
I think this would be really interesting to do again with some yarn or string attached to the base candle. You could dunk it into the water and even spin it a bit while you pour it to get a different texture. Plus, your wrist wouldn't be in the way and no danger of burns. This is a great idea though, they look so neat. Like little candle explosions~

I bet these would be great cast into resin and polished, to protect them. I worked with wax in the past and found that after a while they got super dusty and i couldn't clean them without them breaking.
@SoCraftastic6 жыл бұрын
I agree, that would be a great way to make them more permanent. Once in a sculpture class we did a similar technique with a wax sculpture & plaster. We cast a metal piece, but resin is more accessible now since I don't personally have access to metal-melting equipment.
