[DIY Guide] Air Filter & Cabin Filter Replacement : 2009 BMW F01 740d 7 Series

Brief video explaining how to change the air filter and cabin filter on the F01 7 Series 6 cylinder engines. I believe this is also the same process for the F series 535d, 530d and 525d.
Apologies in advance for the lack of polished video and audio quality. I'm just starting out with uploading YT videos and using my smartphone in one hand whilst working in the other!

Hi mate, great video it helped me do the filters on my 7 - quick question you didn't mention which way the airflow should be on the second filter you took out I've read varying articles I just wondered if you knew which way it should be? As I wasn't sure both facing in or each other or opposite?? Thanks

Thanks for that I did it today and they were both facing towards the passenger compartment but I wasn't sure if they were both meant to face that way seems I have put one in the wrong way - I'll swap it out tommorow, I did the air filters today with pollen filters I'm attempting spark plugs, oil n filter tommorow - do you have any idea where the fuel filter is on the 7s is it underneath like other bms of this era?? @@salimkhalifa135 spark plugs? No spark plugs on diesels :) if you meant glow plugs are you replacing because there's a fault? Yeah the fuel filter is underneath the car. Use newtis to see the correct procedure if you can still access it

@@marqfordeauto That's perfect thanks I'll sort that out later today. I have a petrol engined F02 so for me it's spark plugs not glow plugs I'm hoping they come out without too much issue too. I'll check out that software too I appreciate the tip!

@@salimkhalifa135 in which case you don't need to change the fuel filter :) Yeah Newtis has all the official BMW procedures as its their tech catalogue. It's not the easiest to navigate but there's a lot of steps that most people miss e.g software resets, and so it's handy to know what they are. You'll find even some independent mechanics miss them too so it's worth knowing.
