ONE MORE THING CAN BE DONE..... We all have lehngas from our old lehnga choli which already have that cancan skirt attached simply ask tailor to detach it and add a belt to it. TADAA... You can use skirt with any dress. I got this done so it's tried and tested and the was far easier. :D

Elastic should be your waist measurement, and it might be more comfortable to add 1/2 inch to an inch onto that but your waist measurement when the elastic is not stretched is enough

Allan Jayalal hi!! I don’t think it will work for saree dear. As saree is not supposed to have this much flare. And you might not be comfortable with the can can touching your skin too much because sarees are tightly wrapped around

You don't really have to wash this very often as we dont wear lehengas or gowns everyday. Just like we have to get our lehengas and evening gowns dry cleaned, i would suggest to get the can can skirt dry cleaned along with them once or twice a year, thats all it needs. But if you intend to wash it , use the mildest shampoo to wash it

Hey Ramya the idea of cancan skirt is awesome and easy to make but I have a question in my mind that how to store it so that it's entire shape and volume doesn't change or destroy.

Sudipta De hi sweetie !! You can store it by folding it like you fold any of your clothing and stack as many clothes you want over it , s when you take it out to use it you just have to give it a good pull to make it flare again, it’s very flexible in that way as it can retain shape easily just by pulling and pushing it with our hands to its original shape. And that won’t take hours either , only few minutes and you will have your fluffy skirt back in shape

Smitha Lopes Naik thank you very much !! Yes you can wash it with mild soap or shampoo , I won’t suggest you to use detergent for it as I it might not be good for cancan or you can just give it for dry cleaning once or twice a year as we don’t wear lehengas or gown every day
