Awesome info. Sometimes it's the non "professional" growers who know what nuances intimidate the beginner the most. "Non professional growers" are also more effective at reducing things to their most elemental basic level. That was certainly the case with your video. I LOVED it. The sound was a bit off but great info. Definitely thumbs up! 👍

Thank YOU! the vanda baskets and pots are difficult to come by in my area. Now I have another option, aside from mounting them on trees or "drift wood".

Just viewed the video, very helpful. BUT cannot find the acoustical ceiling tie wire - Home Depot or Lowe's, even Google. Is that the actual name? Thanks
What kind of wire you are using? I want to make...tnx

Yepppp.. Exited to go home., Want to try it with my newly purchased vanda,. But in my case here in philippines we don't have a ceiling wire available in hardwares.. Is there any other wire i can use?
@mainlyvandas2145 жыл бұрын
Maybe a strong coat hanger will.work. or wire used to secure chain link fencing.

Maybe I missed this but...do you have to use the basket for vandas? Can I just hang straight on the hanger like the first one you did?
@mainlyvandas2143 жыл бұрын
You do not have to utilize a basket, however, depending on your vanda type, you may need to. Some do better than others when attached to a basket or something similar...
@robynmorris29693 жыл бұрын
@@mainlyvandas214 How will I know the difference? I just bought my first vanda and not sure of the difference between those that need a basket and those that don't.

Excellent! I truly appreciate your diy method of hanging vandas. My dilemma is how long a wire to cut for my miniature vandas, the tallest of which is only 6 1/2" tall. Can you let me know of your reference guide for the length of the wires?
@mainlyvandas2144 жыл бұрын
Hello, it really all depends on how high or low you want your plant to hang. I would say the hanger portion is at most 6 inches when bent. The plants I have hanging on the highest horizontal pole are the longest, as I don't want them to burn if too high in greenhouse. Others are only 12 inches because I have them hanging on other pots.

Thank you. Because I have miniature vandas, I was able to use artistic soft wires instead of the hanging tile wires you demonstrated. Great idea learned from you. Much appreciated.

Hi. My Sanderiana has barely any roots and I just don’t know what’s up with her. What should I do to grow healthier roots on her? Thanks.

Thanks. Love the information! I live in NY and have my Vanda's in the home without a pot. I was spraying every day but the roots died :( I think they needed more water or maybe I burned them with fertilizer? Anyway, I think I am going to soak them from now on and this hanger will help a lot! If I can, I would love to suggest you get a simple, cheap, microphone. I think it will up the professional feel to go along with your knowledge. Keep up the good work~ www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076F5W8Q5/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This species is difficult to grow in my opinion. You may need to hang it a little bit lower and add some Moss to the pot to add moisture make sure you are fertilizing regularly

Mainly Vandas hi. Thanks for the reply. However, between 6 months ago and now, the plant just never took off. And I dumped her for a better , healthier sample of the same. I have realized some superb success with adding moss the pot. Some really healthy roots.
