Adrianna Austin I tried this on my hair and my hair is rather darker than the girl in the video, it lifted really well for me and it didn’t show up orange or yellow when the bleach lifted my hair like it would in most other cases when it comes to dying and bleaching your own hair. This was also my first time dying my hair and I’ve had this kit for so long and was contemplating whether to try it or not, after seeing this video I gave it a go and I am in love with my hair and I am so happy I got it, I did have my doubts at first but I’ve never been happier with my hair. I’m no professional either, going into it I had no real technique whatsoever, but my hair looks like it was professionally done!

AMAZING! It looks exactly like the Baliage i had done for 350 dollars! I’ve been afraid to do this because i couldn’t find anyone who used this kit with dark “all one color” hair in her before photos. Everyone had existing highlights that were growing out, so it was hard for me to tell if someone with truly dark brown hair could pull this off without looking like a skunk. My hair is a SMIDGE lighter than yours in the before video and i have a tiny tiny tiny bit more auburn undertones in my dark brown hair, but it’s still definitely dark brown, so I’m confident this will look ok on me since it looks so great on you. Many many thanks for sharing 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

So I tried the revlon highlighting kit and created many “highlights” because I was tired of my super dark brown... I have been using blue shampoo for some brassiness, for about 3 weeks. But now I don’t know if I should use the highlighting kit again, use the t27 toner, or just choose a light ash brown hair dye. I want to get of the brassiness for good, while still having a lighter color somewhat. I also love my blonde highlights. The fact that I was a redhead a couple of years ago is probably contributing to the brassiness too 😑
@DeanndraNunnery4 жыл бұрын
I would probably try to bleach again and use a blue toner. I’m not sure which one the t27 is lol but I always suggest this one instead since it’s blue amzn.to/2LisdQT idk how well the hair dye will work since color doesn’t lift color. I think if your hair doesn’t feel too damaged and since it’s been 3 weeks you should be ok to bleach again. It should help with lifting the color. You could also try a color remover since you said you had red hair dye in at one point. That might help lift any remaining color that’s still in your hair. After that you could try the ash dye. If you don’t want to bleach again! Hope that helps! Not a hair dresser but that’s the 2 routes I’d consider!

@DeanndraNunnery6 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The cap actually pulls hair from your whole head. If you brush back your hair from the middle of the top of your head, it will pull everything in the middle. You could also work further down the cap if you want more hair highlighted from the middle of your head so it shows underneath. It would probably take someone helping you in the back to pull everything as I couldn’t see well back there on my own. Hope this helped and answered your question! ❤️

Great tutorial! I bought the box but haven't used it yet, been watching some tutorials first since I've never done highlights. On a separate note....I love your nails, what polish are you wearing? Color is so beautiful! Thanks for the video!
@DeanndraNunnery6 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I actually do my gel nails at home. I usually get my gel polish on Ali Express or Amazon. I'm so sorry, gel nail colors don't really have names but I'm sure most nails salons would have a similar nude/orange.

After months of debating I finally tried this! The color came out great, the only problem I had was that the strands I took out were too small so you can barely see it. I might try again at a later time👍

It was dyed probably about 6-8 months before I did the highlights

Deanndra Nunnery what if I dyed my hair like 2 weeks ago u think it will turn out like yours?
@DeanndraNunnery5 жыл бұрын
It really just depends on what the undertone of the color you used is. I think the highlights would work as long as you wrap your hair so the bleach doesn’t dry. But you may have to tone your hair after the highlights too if you don’t like the color.

Mijn naam is Tiffany Molhoek

Deanndra Nunnery thanks so much, I want the highlights but the warmer tones look amazing on you, on me not so much 😂 Would you recommend “toning” with a Demi permanent ash dye afterwards, in my case, to tone the warmth a little bit?
@DeanndraNunnery4 жыл бұрын
No, color doesn’t lift color. If your hair is as dark as mine was and it comes up warm use a purple or blue toner. Purple gets rid of yellow undertones and blue cancels out orange.
@Lee-wb8mt4 жыл бұрын
Deanndra Nunnery I’ve been struggling to find a plain purple or blue toner, I have both purple and blue shampoo, but I know that’s for minimising yellow or brassy tones after colouring or lifting hair, but I would love to know of an actual blue toner that I can buy.
@Lee-wb8mt4 жыл бұрын
Deanndra Nunnery I saw a video by a professional stylist who suggested Demi permanent color with ash to tone orange tones because the Demi permanent uses developer to temporarily deposit colour on the hair’s surface.

@DeanndraNunnery4 жыл бұрын
Yes you can definitely use a plain bleach but I wouldn’t use the wella toner. It doesn’t do much of anything since color doesn’t lift color. You would need to use a purple (for yellow hair) or blue (for orange hair) toner. The kit is actually on amazon amzn.to/3a3lUdV that’s where I usually get it. Cap highlights on that hair! Wow did it hurt pulling it through? I’m a stylist and haven’t used a cap in years for fear of it hurting the clients head
@DeanndraNunnery6 жыл бұрын
It actually didn’t hurt at all which I was scared of too bc I’m super tender headed! It was a little uncomfortable taking it off but not painful. I will say if you’re trained and don’t need to use a cap, I’d skip it. It’s so time consuming and a little uncomfortable for the client. Since I’m not trained, it seemed like the easiest and most full proof way of getting good highlights throughout my hair at home.

Great beautiful!!! For the next time I want to tell a little something about bleach- next time you use bleach, after you applied it to where you want, take a v troughsee thin plastic bag, or a thin trash bag and covet you bleached haid with it!!! The reason is simple. After some time the bleach dries, and after it's dry, it doesn't really do any more highlighting, it kinda almost stops bleaching your hair no matter how long u leave it. And when you covet it with the Plastik bag, the bleach doesn't dry, and also it saves up your natural heat that you head produces and the bleach works fYter. Or you can use the blowdryes on the Plastik bag, so the heat will stay inside the bag better and your hair will be lifted faster.
@DeanndraNunnery6 жыл бұрын
Yes thank you that is great information!! I have other highlighting videos where I used foils instead of the plastic bag. But I do prefer using a plastic bag or shower cap as it is so much easier than the foils (when using the cap method). Thank you for your comment and explanation! I’m sure it will help so many others! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
