I'm British and over here you either get postcrete or normal cement, you don't get this high strength concrete. Postcrete is in short demand due to Brexit so I can only get concrete. I really aren't sure what I should do. Would getting normal cement and adding fiberglass to strengthen it be enough? Or would I need to add sand to the cement mix? I don't want to add rocks/gravel to it to strengthen it as it would make the plates too lumpy. I've been looking all over the internet and I can't find an answer.
@Bensux
@Bensux Жыл бұрын
I know this is a year late, but for anyone else that's looking for an answer: Concrete is what you call the mixture of _cement,_ _sand,_ plus an agregate like _gravel_ If that's what you can get your hands on, then that's all you need, just add water. If you can only get pure cement (just the powder), then you would need to also get some _river sand_ (fine river sand) to mix in with your cement, the additional aggregate (gravel) is optional. There's different ratios you can use when mixing the sand and cement (1 part cement to 2 parts sand, etc).

Save fucking about buying a mold for $45 just buy a 73 litre bucket for $10 and does the same job. Also you don’t need reinforcement wire or bars if you are using high strength concrete, but make sure you leave the plate to cure for at least 7 days as it will then have 70% strength. 1 month would be 100% strength I’d say.

Costed me about $120 for everything you see here but the cost of 80lbs bag of concrete is wayyyyy cheaper than buying the iron plates. It’s about $6 for that 80lbs bag. So it’s cheaper than buying plates
