This is from experience. Yes they are a pain to install but done properly will last a long long time without issues. Might want to consider adding a flashing (Drip Edge) on the outside top of the door so water will run off. Also and you probably know this already, caulk really good around the outside as well.

How do you repair the bottom door lock ? Mine is stuck in the up position

Ok “door” is the general term. Panels are the individual moving parts. Active panel is the one with the knob and lock. Inactive panel is the one that usually remains inactive (the other one) and closed. You should get a 6 foot level for this, especially if you have any more doors or anything else to work on that’s bigger than the level you have. A 6 foot level will give you a reference for a straight edge also. Using the one you have is only telling you that you’re level over 2 feet. I commented in another video because I saw that one first. The inactive panel rubs on the threshold. You were almost there in this video when you were adding the screw to the first top hinge.

I think those 3.5 screws go behind the weather stripping, not through the hinges?

Probably both Should have one into hinge and down middle of frame

I have a French door just installed by someone so the door that doesn’t have the knob on it has two plastic inserts how does the door stay close and locked if it has nothing but plastics inside the frame cuz it’s not a wood door
