Man, don’t you just hate it when you need to make a fiberglass mold so you build a beautiful 5 axis precise computer -controlled milling machine? Hat it when that happens… In all seriousness great stuff! My jaw dropped when I saw the electronics cabinet. Thing of beauty! 😍

Hello, thanks for your amazing videos. I'm designing my own 5axis CNC milling router. I have a difficult question about z axis physical (switch) limits. .. When the spidle is points down there is a limit to avoid table collision, BUT..... when head axis B is rotated 90º I´ll need to move Z down to the base.. Who could I set this B limit depending on the B axis position?... 😅.. Thanks again

the problem, if you do your 4 and 5 axis at the spindle, is that u make the entire thing incapable to mill anything hard without getting a lot of chatter but for your application its completely fine I guess

Thanks in advance. aaayy , i see down in the comments other individuals are also interested in the same questions. Also , how would you do automated tool changing on such a machine ?? i was looking at ACCtek AMK1212 machine, it is a beast.

This is a game of buy a 5 axis cnc or do research on how to build your own. You can start with say a "mechmate", mechmate.com/ ( and NO, I don't promote them, just use them as an example) completely redesign it to a 5 axis to fit your needs. Sorry but that's the reality

Erm Thats the bearing he will use for the cutting head to rotate giving it 4th and 5th axis, or did you mean from where or what did the part come from?
@lochmanandson71715 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, thanks for the insight, I knew it was for the B/C head but was curious what the part was: a planetary gear or a bearing as you mentioned? Would love to check in either case, any links would be helpful :)

Question; I want to make a Kayak mould from either foam or 3D printed plastic. Which would you suggest making for this application, a 3D printer or a CNC to cut foam?
@chrislau97765 жыл бұрын
I tried using a big 3D printer to print a parts and join together and making a fiberglass lamination, But its done't work for me because each printed parts wrapped a lot and each printed layer need a lot of prime painting & polishing and very difficult to make it smooth surface , its very hard to do a big mold by using a 3D printed parts for my experience.
