We had similar ideas. The one thing that I definitely got turned off was the profanity in the music. I'm from a different time, but boy does t hat turns my entire family off. I used a treadmill turned 90 degrees with a florescent strip painted to show between a virtical crack on the back wall, and a couple Raspberry Pi's to control both the ceiling lights, sounds, concrete shaker, pneumatic lifts, etc, along with the car-bags. I also had ramps and doors pneumatically controlled so it made walls move to change position before and after the guests did the ride, so they were lulled into disorientation of going 'down' floors to a lower level in the haunt.

Since this is an industrial elevator, We ask that you use caution when riding. You might find it interesting to know that this exact elevator shaft has been in place for almost a century discovered long before Kennywood was ever built. Sealed shut for nearly 50 years. No one has actually gone down under the shaft.....

The detail of this elevator is amazing... Since the terror control board is no longer exist you could could accomplish this prop using Brookshire VSA, Ennntec usb to dmx, and a couple of DMX relay packs. The Brookshire VSA will also trigger your video and audio. There are even more support from HauntMonkey for input control and trigger from your cell phones.

Looking to build somehting just like this. Can you post a link to the air components and how they all hook up? Or just take a longer shot still and maybe show arrows of air flow? In your still at 2:36 it looks like I"m seeing the inflation valves #1 & 2 from the left? Then the dump valve with a baffle as the #3 valve on the right? Also I"m assuming the #4 dump valve is on the other side.

How does the terror tech board hook up to the airbags? Also once you hit the start button does the terror tech board control the whole ride so you just sit back and enjoy it? Can you use the airbags if your ride vehicle is on wheels? Last question, can the airbags inflate higher? (I'm building a ride myself and I'm new to the building area so I have lots of questions)

Building similar - do you know how much of a gap is needed between the surrounding walls and the elevator itself? Was thinking a 4'' gap would be enough, but want to be safe... It's going on bags that max out at 8" of lift and the floor itself is currently planned for 54'' x 64''.

I have the TerrorBytes prop controller, but when I go on the AirSlamit site, I'm confused as to what to buy - I doubt I need a $2,500 "system", but need to figure out what I need in addition to my air compressor. Any advice is appreciated. Is there a tutorial about setting up a system like this somewhere?

Love the build! A couple questions, and I know this was posted 5 years ago, so I won't be crushed if you don't get a chance to respond, haha: 1. I love the peeling paint effect around the rust, did you use a specific technique to achieve it? With the flaps of paint kind of just hanging off; I have heard of using elmer's glue and peeling semi-cured paint off, but wasn't sure! 2. Where did you get the Terror Tech board again? I did some searching and unfortunately it looks like they may not exist anymore? If not, no worries, FrightProps is an old standby, but was excited about the capabilities for sure! Thanks again for sharing this awesome project!
@GravesOfTheGroves3 жыл бұрын
Hey Aaron! Yeah it’s been a few years. That year I did a whole road to October series where I built that whole thing. But as far as the paint, base color, vaseline where you want it to peel then regular latex paint. Once it dries it peels right off. Yes the terror tech board is no longer sadly. Your right, the Boo Box I think it’s called is the best substitute with a Sprite media player for the video out. Good luck!
@aaronstolicker27353 жыл бұрын
@@GravesOfTheGroves That vaseline trick I'll have to give a try, thanks so much for the tip! I think we've all got 50 ways to do rust, haha, it's all in the deciding of which one goes nicely where 😅! I have the same question. I googled what he said “air slammer” and found it’s airslamit. Looks like all you need are solenoids and bags, so I’m trying to figure out exactly which.
