American mechanic here for 30 plus years. Around $80,000 in tools. I know you're using what you have, and I respect that. Well done guys, please be safe.

Kind words there my friend! Trades Mechanic here also, im 52 and started young working with my Father who was also a Mechanic, between the 2 of us we have accumulated alot of tools as you can imagine. What you said is key, stay safe, its why im still working as a mechanic, these guys do what they can and do very well with what they have, through out the years ive seen or heard of accidents that could have been prevented, eye safety, proper tools or like these guys with minimal tools but common sense. Anyways, i felt to respond because i liked your message. Happy New Years from Australia and as always stay safe.

Be careful please do not put your head over the tool while the Spring is compressed just in case the welds break.

it works better than the one that i bought at the hardware store because the store bought one has two parts that both have to be tightened at an even rate, which means that you have to change the tightening tool from one clamp to the other every 10 turns or so..takes a long time to tighten, loosen, change the spring, then tighten and loosen again..but i used the idea of tying the springs with some tye downs to keep it safely in position during the replacement of the spring

So you aprove this idea 👏👏👏👏

Hey guys i really appreciate the video and i understand working with minimal tools, just one thing, please never put your face over a compressed spring, even with correct tools i dont trust it, keep it away from you, also lay it on its side when its waiting to be fitted, just precautions thats all. Good work 👍

good Job. you do with what you have and it may take more time but you do it anyway I'm a professional mechanic here in Canada and I have a lot of tools and I always think that I never have never Enuff tools but as a North American we like to complain but when we see what you guy have it make you realize that that there are people in way worse need that I Am .

Now if only the wheel stand on the bottom of the spring compressor would be anchored to the ground. Then the tool would be much more effective.

Or if you could weld a plate to the bottom so that the person operating the compressor could stand on it while winding. That would keep it steady and give more surface area for it to sit on.

Unless it was a broken spring which was why it was being changed. Or it was just cut with a grinder before before removing the top mount
