Set a BFO Frequency to 12MHz, then you can listen to BC Stations.

Nice Video and useful my Friend. I am using the same BITX40 V3 Radio with vu3vrl's DDS VFO and working OK. Now, I face some problem with rotary encoder, when I rotate it anti-clockwise to lower frequency, the response is normal, whereas for increase of frequency, the response is very slow/poor. I need to replace the encoder. Kindly suggest me it's availability. Thanks. ..... vu2rdx, Sekhar.

Why are you using a level shifter? You calculate CLK0 for what is the VFO output used? As this vfo seems only for display purposes. Do you have some kind of lpf filter behind the CLK0 CLK1 before entering into the dds on the bitx, resolving interference on the blockwave by the dds signal? Ron - PA3FAT

Thanks for the feedback. Level shifter is used because Si5351 operating logic level is 3.3V & Arduino is 5V. CLK0 output is 4.8Mhz to 5Mhz for 40m band. and IF Frequency is 12MHz. Absolutely VFO (7MHz for 40m) is for display. Don't have any LPF filter behind, But their is a 12Mhz Ladder crystal filter at in IF stage. Please check the details about Bitx40 circuit diagram provided in manual.

Is this the same, or different then the one that comes with the bitx40 ? Or mabye i not know what a VFO is mabye, its the screen that gives you what frequency your on right?

Its a different one. You are right, display frequency is the one you are working on. VFO = Display Frequency - BFO.

Just a note: the Si5351A by Silicon Lab is a clock generator not a DDS like the Analog Devices' family of AD9850/51 etc. Nice job otherwise! Now, go get your ticket!

Hi, Looked at your sketch. Looks really great and structured coding. Super. Using struct's is great. Did not know Arduino c supported this. Some new learned. Tnx ! Working on same together with W5KUB (check out fb or here on yt). Will follow your developments as of now. Ordered 2.6 colordisplay with touchscreen on ebay. Will be working on getting this to work when it arrived (digole.com tft). And final: get your license. And hopefully will meet on the air one day. 73 Ron - PA3FAT
