Fentertainment, thank you so much for providing this video! I typically pay Valvoline to do my oil changes because my husband is always slammed with work. We decided we can't keep paying $100+ every time. I bought all the stuff and then my husband got hurt at work (fire dept.) on Friday. He keeps saying he still has to change my oil, but I don't want him hurting his back even more. Your video makes me feel confident enough to change it myself so he doesn't have to. Thank you!

Great idea GM had putting that oil filter where you can’t see it also I would recommend putting a small amount of some kind of lube on your dipstick upper handle inset area , I had a heckuva time getting money to release same with the oil cap can be stubborn...

Great production and editing! I've done my Traverse in the past but I needed a quick confidence refresher to get me going, this vid was just the thing. Thanks!

Hi how to change the spark plugs in Traverse 2012?
@tl56847 жыл бұрын
I watched your video because I recently bought a 2015 traverse and noticed how packed the motor is. I'm hoping I can pull that oil filter up as easy as you did. Your video was very helpful and I like your simple made bottle funnel. Good idea.

Good job. My oil goes to recycling center. Old oil filter goes in my garbage. No going that deep. Can care less about environmental stuff.

Which do you the oil plug??? Got damn it!!!!
@oscargonzales13997 жыл бұрын
how often do you change your synthetic oil
@louofm16 жыл бұрын
Always do the same. Mobil 1 full synthetic with a quality filter (like Mobil 1, k&n, Purolator gold, or wix). I run it about 7000 miles. Oil could probably go longer but filters shouldn't go longer. Mobil 1 is always cheap at Walmart or advanced Auto parts

Does the oil filter drain directly to the ground or does it run all over the under carriage?
@Fentertainment7 жыл бұрын
It does get on the under carriage. I like to spray it off afterwards. I didnt mention that though.

Excellent video except wish you would have taken a few seconds to show EXACTLY where the oil nut is in relation to where you are working. For example is more on the front right or left side, middle under the car and what does the whole part of the oil pan or whatever you call it look like so we can identify the nut, for idiots like me. Again great video. Also what size is the ratchet if you don't use or have the `15 mm.
@Fentertainment5 жыл бұрын
You're Right. This is good constructive criticism. I should have taken a shot of the oil pan bolt. The oil pan will be flat underneath the motor, The bolt will be on the back side of it. I think it may be a tad closer to the drivers side of the vehicle but its pointing at a 45* angle on the pan.
@PhlipPhlop64 жыл бұрын
Great video. The drain plug is located on the passenger side of middle of the car. This video shows the tech going at it from the front of the car. you can also access it from the side of the car, but you have to turn the wheels to get an angle. Front of the car is the best method -- you just can't really see it. And BTW, if you're looking for the battery, it's under the back seat passenger side. LOL....

This was a great informative video! Simply made. Thanks for making it. The prices at the local shops for an oil change on our 2016 Traverse are $50 and up. Are they crazy? So hoping to have my two son's (with my help) complete our first oil change.
