My diffuser stopped shooting out mist and I thought the unit was dead. I took it apart and cleaned the ultrasonic plate and the mist was back. I found a lot of residue on the inside part and you will probably have disassemble the unit to get it clean properly.

So if there is mist when the cover is off but no mist when you put on the cover, the problem is in the fan at the base?

Mine makes good mist, but it doesn't go up...why would that be? I cleaned the plate, it was quite clean already...

The fan seems to work... there's mist now, but I've seen other diffusers that make a lot more than mine.

You may need a replacement plug - mine was doing that but a new plug helped. Call customer service :)
