Yes... these bikes should have come with kickstarts from the factory 😒
We don't hear about e-start issues very often, but you'll wish you had a kickstart when shit happens.
A sticky start button cooked my starter motor while out on the trails. Had a wonderful time pushing the bike all the way back to the truck 🤣

It's recommended to install a capacitor if your bike does not come with one, otherwise you will not be able to kickstart if your battery dies. I'm running the BLS capacitor from ‪@TokyoOffroad‬ - www.tokyooffro...

I've owned several KTM's and I've never had to kick start any of them, you don't need a kick starter. To add, I had a dead battery once in 5 years and I went to kick the bike (was a 2019 300 XC) and the kick starters on these bikes are at such a strange angle it sucked...so I ended up pushing it and dropped it in second gear and it started right up and charged the battery in no time. Don't waste your time and money installing a kick starter you don't need it.

For sure, it's not a necessary mod by any means. I like making my bikes as reliable and fail proof as possible - a kickstarter along with a capacitor, mousses, oil pump delete, skid plate and guards, etc... all contribute to more time on two wheels. Nothing will ever make it 100% fail proof, but these types of things can help narrow that margin. Luckily haven't had to rely on the kickstart yet, but I have found it useful for cold starts and for consistent compression testing.
