- 1 x Electric motor 3 - 6v, Tube bicycle, fine wire 1mm

Nice work! But how about you add a two-valved air tank to it in order to compensate the blast waves? Doesn't need to be big, though. 1/2l bottle with two valves in the cap it will do the job perfectly by receiving the blast-waved air and giving a constant and quiet airflow to the ball. Cut the hose in two and put each end into the cap valves.

If you want to make this more efficient (diaphragm pumps already are quite efficient), you can include a simple reduction geartrain. If the strain on the motor is cut in half, the speed under the same load will double thus making it stronger and more efficient. For this you need a 2:1 ratio geartrain but you can easily go higher making it very powerful. But if you go too far the actual benefit will be lost as it doesn't add more power but rather reduces the speed. So don't make a 50:1 geartrain or the efficiency will drop.
