Here's a first craft of the New Year treat for you guys, a DIY tutorial with actual templates. This will make a 1/6 scale table and a single chair for Barbie, Licca-chan, Integrity Toys etc. I was inspired to make this after seeing the new Re-ment table and chairs set which I reckon is too small for Barbies. They also have a kitchen hutch, so I might make one of those in the future. I also thought a basic table and chair would be more useful to a broad audience.

How thick is your chipboard? I always work in wood for furniture, so I have to figure thickness not using layers. Those are really well done chair patterns.

Thanks. The thickness is approximately 1/16 of an inch, not sure what that is in millimeters. I put the info on the template sheets. The brown chipboard was actually a thicker, rougher material than the white matboard, but once the chairs were all primed and painted the difference is not too jarring.

Would cutting the pieces out of balsa wood make a more sturdy end product?

I don't work with balsa wood so I don't know. The chipboard is already pretty sturdy because it's so dense, especially in layers.
