I’ve done a lot of paint pours with silicone and resin epoxy. If you gently wipe the paint pour down with warm water a few times you shouldn’t need to coat it with the clear coat, you can also add a tad drop of dawn. I also use floetrol in all the paints, not just one. Water can loosen the binders in acrylic paint so I never use it. It (the pouring medium) also makes all the paints more flexible and less likely to break. I’ve pulled large sheets of thin poured paint from the plastic trash bags I use, without breaking. 😀 I hope that helps.

Agreed. That's what I do and it works great!

what is pouring medium
@anna7b5 жыл бұрын
Angie Maynard there are several out there, but I prefer floetrol which I buy in gallons from Lowe’s (it is a lot cheaper). If you look up paint pouring medium I’m sure you’ll find other alternatives if floetrol is not available for you. The way I would describe it is that it is chemically similar to acrylic paint so that when mixed with the paint it does not break it down (does not make it brittle) and the paint retains it’s elasticity and the vibrancy of the colors. I’ve also mixed floetrol with my acrylics when brush painting, and that can also produce some cool results.

Cool! Just a bit of paint pour advice. Less is more with silicone. You don't even have to put it in all your colors if you are doing a dirty cup. The longer you let the paint dry the better off you are. 2 weeks is great. That's why your stock pile idea is great. Finally use baby wipes or facial wipes to clean away oils before putting on cup. Just some thoughts from someone who has delt with quite a few silicone holidays. Love your tutorials😁

Just food for thought, saying you are not a fan of Day of the dead sounds insensitive, and could be hurtful in some people. And I really am saying this simply because I imagine you mean all of the sugar skull stuff isnt your style, (it isn't particularly mine either,) not that you dislike a culture's honored holiday... But again, this is meant as a gentle reminder. Not a hand slap.
