Thank you so much for sharing your talent and experience! I'm working on my first reupholstering project, and wanted to change how the front of the arm looks. This couch has the exact arm look I want. Now I have the confidence to keep going.

Well the difference is, most of them are just normal people who do this as a hobby, this guy is very obviously a professional, so his quality of work is off the charts. That's why he's paid well to do this and those people are just giving their furniture a face lift (usually not even properly).

@peggyt12438 жыл бұрын
+Joe Sanchez He is using an upholstery stapler that requires an air compressor. The cord you see goes to the compressor not to an electrical outlet.
@restezlameme7 жыл бұрын
The Ryobi Airstrike is the only stapler I've heard of that doesn't require a hookup. Like a cordless drill, it takes a chargeable battery that is sold separately. I've heard amazing things about it. www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-18-Volt-ONE-AirStrike-18-Gauge-Cordless-Narrow-Crown-Stapler-Tool-Only-P360/204646227
@pretty-eyes7 жыл бұрын
restezlameme that is not for upholstery it has a narrow head and is for wood staples are too thick for material. but there are small ones which are electric if u need it for personal use not expensive.

do you always change the padding? or do you ever just change the fabric?
@chrisrebo33338 жыл бұрын
are you using staples
@Nirvanexus8 жыл бұрын
Yes, but his stapler is running on compressed air, so you'd prolly need a compressor (the small ones doesen't cost insanely much) as well as a tube made for compressed air (which fits the compressor) and of course a stapler that uses compressed air. I think he's using that specific kind of stapler, because it literally shoots the staples in to the furniture with pretty high speeds. That fabric and foam aint going anywhere. It might get loose pretty quickly with a normal stapler for wood... At least thats what I can imagine, being a self taught craftsman.

Your Videos area really awesome. I am redoing my daughters room and I took a cheap 2nd hand cane back chair and reupholstered it. Turned out beautiful. Thinking of doing a tiny couch for it too. How do you do you determine how much fabric you'll need?
@sonshineandsong2 жыл бұрын
Wow he never answered! I hope you figured it out. I believe you measure every section and add a 2 feet for a plain fabric and much much more for a patterned fabric. Because you need to match the pattern and it takes a lot more fabric.
