I use 3" deck screws, more expense but worth it. I also just split 2x4s for the studs.

What dimension trim did you use for the corners and windows? Looks like about 1x4?

Excellent blind!!! Thank you for sharing! Have you taken the two pieces of duct tape off the driveway yet that marked where your feet needed to be after your trick video shot of moving the base into the trailer? :-)

I use siding nails or screws. They will not back out .

It’s a hunting blind, not a house!! Nice but way overbuilt. Small windows and a lot of blind spots with so much material in the corners. Deer move very slow when they’re browsing, a herd could literally walk right up to this and if you sit still, you would never see them. We’ve built several of these and correcting the mistakes as we go is part of the growing process.

Why is it called Drip edge? Because it cause the water to drip away from the "gutter board" ( fascia board)

Hey rusty great video i am thinking of using this plan for my hunting stand! Do you by chance still have the materials you purchased as far as quantities per board.. lumber prices are crazy I’m not trying to over shoot too much, thanks

What kind of siding did you use?
@MrWKU1233 жыл бұрын
I can’t remember what it’s called specifically. 3/8” thick I think, the main reason I picked it was because it was primed and all Lowe’s had at the time of the pandemic.

Rusty, are you aware that your nickname is Dale Gribble's alias from King of the Hill?

Building a watch??? About 12 inches is close enough. You could of saved money by using 2 x 6 for your 45 inch floor joist

Hard hat with sandals on roof , safety first lol . Windows are way to small .
@MrWKU12311 ай бұрын
You are 100% correct. I always play safety first on the job sites. My windows, yes, they are way too small. I think I’m going to do an update video on that here soon. Thanks for the comment! Have a great day!

Good job. I’m curious to here how the windows worked out for you. Most would have installed them vertically to have a wider opening to shoot.
@MrWKU1232 жыл бұрын
You know, truth be told I probably would have spent the extra money and got vertical sliding casement windows.
