Just wanted to say the kit that I got from Terri was very easy to put together and is holding temperature good he stayed in contact with me the whole time I called him and asked him a question about the wiring and he FaceTimed me and helped me. I highly recommend this product!!! And this company!!!!

At the 27:40 mark where you pinch the fan wire with the permanent glued back-a person will have a hard time replacing the fans because the fan wires might get glued and rerunning wires will be a challenge. People may want to think about small driled holes for the fan wires-caulked. I remembered you gave customers that option previously.
@CoturnixCorner Жыл бұрын
In the original build the wires were sandwiched between the back and the cabinet, if you need to replace a fan just cut the wires and drill a small hole for the new wires.

In any of your related videos have you shown from start to finish how to turn and hatch out chicks in this incubator? Would be great to have a series where you cover all of the basics because from what I’ve seen I don’t feel knowledgeable enough to build and use this.

i built a TerryBator. What I have to say the advantage of building htis incubator is that each componenet is discreet, in that it can be replaced as it breaks, unlike the store bought premade incubators. I have 2 of the temperature relays, each controlling its own fan and light for heating. additionally, I have a dimmer switch on my primary temp relay light so i can adjust the heat it is putting out so the light doesnt cycle on/off as much. The second temp relay is set to come on 1.5 degrees below the primary temp relay. I also set my inkbird temp relay to read in Celcius instead of Farenheight as it allows temperature control 0.5 degree F increments (0.2 C).

The fans and regulator can be purchased for around $30. If you want egg turners, you're looking at $65 each for the Little Giant brand.

I wanted to leave a comment here since this was newer than the original build video that you put out about 4 years ago. I built your cabinet incubator and put in my first batch of chicken eggs. Everything was going great! The temperature and humidity were dialed in and I had 70 eggs that were one day away from going into lockdown when the inkbird controller malfunctioned and I found my incubator at 159° Fahrenheit. Obviously I lost the whole batch. It was very unfortunate because half of the chicks were already reserved. That's what you get for counting your chickens before their hatched. Anyway, I have decided to upgrade the controller to something with an alarm and I'm also adding a second thermometer with the app and alarm parameters that you can set. This was devastating because the incubator was working wonderfully up until then. My question is: have you had any issues with the inkbird controllers and is there anything else that you've done in a situation like this?
@Yeshuaschosen7 ай бұрын
I settled on a cheaper version because it seems they're all prone to do this.The better option would be to buy a regular incubator thermostat and wire it in yourself.Sorry you lost your first batch!

I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED AN INCUBATOR, ESPECIALLY A CABINET INCUBATOR LIKE THIS ONE HERE. BUT I, UNFORTUNATELY, AM NOT FINANCIALLY CAPABLE OF AFFORDING THE TOOLS OR MATERIALS AS YOU MENTIONED AT THIS TIME. I'm FOSTERING MY COUSINS SON CURRENTLY FULL TIME, DUE TO A ADDICTION SHE IS BATTLING. BUT I HOME-SCHOOL HIM DUE TO HIM HAVING A LEARNING DEFICIT WHICH UNFORTUNATELY NO MATTER WHAT I DO TO PREVENT HIM FROM BULLYING. BUT HE AND I FIND THIS STUFF FASCINATING, AND I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A WONDERFUL SCHOOL PROJECT AS WELL AS A GREAT CHRISTMAS PRESENT. I WAS CURIOUS ABOUT HOW I COULD ENTER THIS GIVEAWAY? AND I WAS ALSO CURIOUS DOES IT COME WITH AUTO TIMERS FOR HUMIDITY AND TEMPERATURE OR DUE YOU BUY IT SEPARATELY, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!🙂👍 GREAT JOB BY THE WAY, VERY COOL💯

I'm excited to build mine but wanted to ask a question first. Let's say one wanted a larger window to be able to monitor their hatch more efficiently. Would this affect the cabinet's ability to hold heat in at all? For instance If the window was twice the size that it is now so the eggs on the sides could be more easily seen.
@CoturnixCorner11 ай бұрын
Not really, I've seen people make a 12" x 14" window and didn't have any issues. The only downside is that the heating elements may come on more often due to the temps cooling down faster.

How did you wire up the 4 pin fan ?
@CoturnixCorner10 ай бұрын
The Artic F8 Fans are three wire fans. The center wire is the positive and one of the outer wires is ground. The remaining wire is a speed control wire and is unused.

@@CoturnixCorner So do we need to cut a hole in the Terrybator for the cord?
@rbljackson11 ай бұрын
@@CoturnixCornerI have the same question terry. Is there a pre cut hole for the egg turner power cords to run out of the cabinet? If no can you explain where and how you did this? Get design btw. Looks like a clean and easy assembly. Last question… for humidity control what style container do you use? I’m assuming the amount of humidity will be relevant to the size of container/ surface area.
@CoturnixCorner11 ай бұрын
Yes, there is now a precut groove on the right side for the turner power cords. You can use any size tray for water depending on the desired humidity.
