@ Skyler Villarreal 'Effecting' is not actually a word in English. Afraid I do sometimes make typos in videos which can't be corrected after uploading but in this case, affecting is the correct spelling :)

Yes, I only saw the pic on the packaging when I ordered it and assumed it was small as well! I was really surprised when I opened the diagram, and I learned a lesson trying to make bigger pieces because the needle doesn't felt properly all the way through =_=

Maqaroon how many kits do you have ?? And what's your favorite craft to do
@maqaroon10 жыл бұрын
lincolna pereira My favourite craft is definitely needle-felting! I'm actually quite lazy so I love that felting only requires one needle and you don't need to have a table spread full of supplies/clay/tools. I have so many kits at home because I get excited and keep buying ones which I want to film, but actually making the tutorials takes much longer so the kits pile up! I think I have about 15-20 kits right now including extra ones for future giveaways :)
@lincolnap268910 жыл бұрын

I'm a beginner felter and I've watched almost all of your videos. I have specific questions regarding your techniques. Are there different results you would obtain when pulling the wool apart versus balling it up? Same question...with leaving wispy edges on smaller parts and poking onto the main piece versus cutting into the main piece and pushing the smaller parts inside of the cut?
@maqaroon9 жыл бұрын
Stacey Borcky Hi! Those are great questions! Balling the wool creates a denser core and that helps keep the piece nice and firm (it's also easier to hold which greatly reduces the risk of accidentally poking a finger :P). Pull the wool apart helps create an even surface because the fibers are evenly spread out. Personally, I would recommend balling the wool when making the core of a piece, then covering it with a layer of fluffy, pulled apart wool for the final finish. For attaching smaller pieces, it's best to have wispy edges AND cut a slot so there are "stray fibers" on both sides of the pieces you want to attach. This way, the needle helps wool from both sides mesh together and creates a very firm bond. If you ever feel two pieces aren't joined together that well, then just keep adding some spare wool to the part where they join up. The needle will compress the wool a lot so adding a few extra strands won't have an effect on the shape or appearance of the final piece. Hope this helps and good luck!

How do you layer up the body without over felting ..... Help ????????
@alahnakisebach5033 жыл бұрын
In my experience, felt less than you think you need to. Not much more than enough to hold the piece together and get it in anout the right shape. You can always felt more, but you can't go back.

When doing a larger piece I know that you start small then add wool to make bigger .... My prob is that when I do that , and adding layers it get really hard before I've finished ... Which makes it hard to add details... What do I do ... Help
@donnajk44235 жыл бұрын
Devin Houthoofd hello I have been felting for a while. If you are creating a larger item it’s best to use core wool. Buy from Amazon cheap enough as you can then just lightly poke it and then add your main colours. If you already do this and it’s still hard it’s because you don’t need to needle it so much until you get nearer the outside part. Believe me I have broke so many needles when I first started. I thought all the wool fibres had to be pushed in right from the start. Then it ends up like rock. Hope that helps and enjoy ur crafting 😊
@donnajk44235 жыл бұрын
Devin Houthoofd also forgot to add. You can also roll your wool into the basic shape. Use a bigger piece. If u start with small amount and build up it will get too dense and be hard. Roll a ball of core wool and lightly prick. Then add your colours and then you can needle more
