It works really well! I like that. I can just set it and leave it running for a few minutes while I'm doing other things during brew day.

You're welcome. They are very nice, and beats dragging everything into the kitchen. I bought a keg that had dried crap on it for over 20 years and that cleaned it in about 20 mins. No scrubbing, but I did remove the posts and put on new gaskets lol

Great design. I ust to build aquarium filter systems, I might still have parts to build this. I might add a garden sprinkler to the top.

I have like eight holes at the very top that spray random areas. It covers the entire top area. I rotate the carboy or keg a little bit but I don't even need to really because it cleans really well with the sump pump pressure.

Nice design! How to you seal the fiberglass rod from leaks? Just a tight fit, or do you add some glue?
@CityscapeBrewing
@CityscapeBrewing Жыл бұрын
You can use PVC cement or just tight fit. If it leaks it just goes back into the bucket anyways. I just tight fit it together.

I bought a Kegland Bucket Blaster. It comes with a very small Chinese pond pump, and the rest of the stuff is Duotight and EVAbarrier, except for the disconnects. It worked just fine with that little pump. No CIP ball. No arms to spray the sides. Everything came off. Sadly, the pump died very young, but for $28, I got a better one from Amazon. I didn't want to spend a ton on factory brewery powders, so I tried my homemade Oxy-Clean substitute, which is a combination of sodium percarbonate and washing soda. It works perfectly fine. You can add a surfactant that doesn't foam, but it works without it, so I'm going to leave it alone. If I were doing this over again, I'd get the parts on my own, and I would use a Homer Bucket with a round hole in the lid instead of a wire cage like the one the Bucket Blaster comes with. Kegland products have no direct warranty in the US, so you have to rely on whoever sold you the product.

Well, I guess I lied. I just took a keg off the cleaner, and it still has a ring of yeast after around 10 minutes. Maybe I need to add a ball.

Would you say this is a better setup than the Keg King Bucket Blaster?
@CityscapeBrewing
@CityscapeBrewing Жыл бұрын
It's definitely cheaper, especially if you can find a used sump pump, but even with a new one the pressure from the sump pump is pretty strong and works really well to clean everything. I haven't used the keg king so can't compare head to head.

Hey, Have you had any trouble with the cleaner reacting with the buckets? My last batch, smelled and looked like paint. I always rinse before I wash, but seemed suspicious.
@CityscapeBrewing
@CityscapeBrewing Жыл бұрын
Nope. I have always used PBW or Oxiclean Free. Never had an issue with color from buckets at all and I use the blue ones from Lowes most of the time.

Si I am starting slowly to get into brewing and such. Can I make good beers with an all in one system? Also I thought you said 1/2 inch hose but you linked to 3/8ths? I could be wrong. Which are the adapters to go from the ball locks to the hose? Thank you in advance! I just joined your channel btw! Cheers
@CityscapeBrewing
@CityscapeBrewing Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes you can make great beer in any system, a lot of people use an all in one system to save space and make brew days a bit easier. It's the same process as mine except the sparge portion, everything else is the same. The parts I list under the video in the description are correct. I made sure of that when I was putting together the parts list.

I haven't used any personally, but have friends that have several different ones. For a beginner brewer, the Anvil Foundry 10.5 gallon is a good one. They made some recent changes to the latest model that really makes it better, and cheaper all in one system for about $425 and I just saw their site has 15% off before August 15th. www.anvilbrewing.com/foundry-10-5

I realli like the 18 gallon. Does it have the updates? Also do you remember what size holes you drilled in the PVC? I am totally building this! ty!! @@CityscapeBrewing
@CityscapeBrewing
@CityscapeBrewing Жыл бұрын
I think the holes were 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch. That doesn't really matter much. I'd start small and see how it goes. I am not sure if the 18 gallon has the upgrades, but if the screen is at the top of the unit, then it does have them.

@@CityscapeBrewing Perfect, thanks for the quick reply. I built something similar and started with 2 gallons and found it to be too much, for two reasons: 1. It wasn't necessary to have that much liquid to keep the pump from running dry - it's amazing how fast that liquid drains from the keg/fermenter. 2. Even using the low-foam Saniclean that you suggested for the sanitization bucket, I found the bubbles to reach the top and start overflowing slightly. I upgraded mine slightly with an all metal construction, a 3/8" stainless steel CIP, duotight fittings and a 3/4 HP submersible pump I got used off of Amazon. All inspired by your design and the Ss Brewtech Keg Washer. Thanks for making these videos.

You're welcome. Sometimes a drop of two of fermcap S that you can use to prevent boil overs will also prevent foaming for sanitizer. I add a few drops to it sometimes to help with that
