Thank you man I would just asking myself wonder if anyone has ever just filled up basketballs for kettle bells and you came up ! Brilliant , I’ll definitely be doing this as I live on an island and have limited funds I can spend on equipment so might as well make everything out of concrete as well. Thank you

if you use a heat gun and insert large springs (temporarily) in the PVC pipe you can get nice radius bends for the handles. that being said awesome set

Won't the handles over time break? Aren't they weak?

Nice vid. Are they completely round or did you u cut off a bit at the bottom for better standing?

Thank you🙏...The concrete will naturally sink to the bottom and create the desired shape. It's like it was meant for it👌😁

@3:35 are you nailing it? What exactly are you doing there? 😨
@MattLees-Nunan
@MattLees-Nunan 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, sure am! Because the concrete isn't fully dry, it's able to be hit in. It's nailing the synthetic fabric where I cut out the slots for the handle😊

what did you spray the handles with? I mean what kind of spray color?

What you need is a high gloss exterior primer and paint together. If you don't have a primer, the paint will just flake off!

dumb question but the weight of wet Cement stays the same when dry?
@MattLees-Nunan
@MattLees-Nunan 4 жыл бұрын
No such thing as a dumb question!...It's actually a good one. Wet cement is heavier depending on how much water you mix in. Reason being that when the drying takes place, the water evaporates. If you were to have a 10kg mix with 1Ltr of water it would be 11kg but 10kg when dry👍
@varun009
@varun009 3 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily, cement absorbs a great deal of water as part of the setting reaction. Concrete chemical mechanics aren't that well established unfortunately, but it will be a little more. You can calculate the amount of water absorbed based on the amount of cement you add. There are formulae online if you look around on Google. As for weight, you can always throw in scrap steel (rebar ect...) as aggregate to weigh them down even more without adding too much volume. Cements hygroscopic nature is the reason construction workers continually wet concrete structural elements upon removal of the forms and for some duration constituting the curing term.

Can the upper part of the PVC, where you grip, handle the weight for long times? And It could hand heavier than 14 kilos?

Without breaking?
@MattLees-Nunan

Yes! As long as your screws are big enough at the bottom and the handle extends all the way down👍

If you are worried about the handles breaking just fill them completely with sand or put some wires inside before putting it on the wet concrete.
