I love how she just so delicately keeps reiterating she wants the side walls pink. Sweet little angel lol I just adore her. Literally being a mother means guiding your children through life! My daughter is 5 & she doesn't get to control every little detail in her life. As a mother it's your job to teach them and to make most decisions for them! Especially when they are Ziya's age. I think you do great with letting her have a say but also keeping boundaries. Don't worry about what others say, at the end of the day Ziya is happy and healthy without all pink walls! Keep doing what you're doing!!

From an artists standpoint, grey walls would make sense since the bedding has some grey accent pillows and the theme is rain and clouds. Think of like a rainy day in the spring when its a little grey outside but there’s still pops of color from the flowers and butterflies and whatnot and how it usually looks when there’s a rainbow outside. I think it’d be perfect for the rain theme, especially with her being an April baby lol. It would go perfectly and would make the gold accents and the bright stars pop and would contrast the pink well. I would also potentially swap the gold stars for gold or blue rain drops mixed in with the stars. That would give you that Pinterest look/feel

as someone whose studying and loves interior design: a few things that i noticed 1. i like your mom's bedding style (no offense sis). like she said, it looks more sophisticated and does not overwhelm the room 2. PLEASE BLEACH THE CANOPY. it would be super easy and cheap and end up looking like the canopy in the pictures 3. i think the walls look "weird" or maybe not how you envisioned it bc the gold stars are extremely brassy and have a greenish undertone (at least on camera) plus the "clouds" have a very blue/violet undertone that are skewing and tricking the eye into confusing the mint color. but i love the contrast of the green wall with the bedding! 4. honestly i think ziya's name on top of the bed would be cute, simple and not distracting to the eye or competing for attention with the bedding + the cloud/star rain combo would look good combined with the canopy to look whimsical and flowy. just my humble and technical opinions i know from school . you are an amazing mom and have an amazing eye so it'll turn out awesome anyways!!

I thought about bleaching the canopy but bleach doesn't always just make fabric a lighter shade... for example if you get bleach on a black shirt it turns orange, a lot of other colors turn yellow...so i'm afraid of what color it will really turn. Also feel like it would be difficult to get an even color. I chose not to put Ziya's name over her bed because it's just so common, I wanted to try something more interesting and creative...but then Ziya insisted on having butterfly printed bedding lol...that bedding is throwing off my design for the room but we're just trying to compromise!

I think you guys have done a great job so far! The green wall makes the room whimsical and child friendly. Every shade of pink shouldn’t match either. It gives depth to the room while still feeling cohesive. I like that you’re sticking within a certain pink family but doesn’t have to be precise. The butterfly spread even has pops of marigold in it. Free yourself up some more and you will achieve that designer look you’re going for.
