Hi James, You should find as the Micro matures it will sink to the water level. It's because it's new and it's trying to float. Once it becomes neutrally buoyant it will sit at water level. If the UV staying on is an issue (which it is), why didn't they connect it to the same connection as the pump. Then when the pump turns off automatically so will the UV. Just a thought mate. Terry.
@JamesTHEKOIwhisperer1235 жыл бұрын
Wrighty hello mate yea ok thanks mate and yea was thinking that about the uv light but it says in the manual pacifically to not run dry and not to be put into the same wire connections as the pump strange not happy with this product especially with the cost no so happy ponding my end atm lol

Hi James it’s Mark from Swindon just looked at your latest video the K-1 media ideally needs to be bubbled in PP to take the waxy coating off it then it will all sink and be under the water level as with Daisy I would try and give her a salt bath 3 ounces to the gallon for 10 minutes it should perk her up
@JamesTHEKOIwhisperer1235 жыл бұрын
mark connor thanks 4 the tips mate will get it all sorted ASAP and let you no the low down on the next video I found Costa to night
@darrendazman29775 жыл бұрын
The eazy pod only requires 18ltrs of k1 micro... The media will sink over time and even more so when the bacteria starts to grow... Don't forget to add filter start... My media started to sink after around a week. Keep up the videos m8

Wow this a massive filter for the pond but am sorry to hear that it is not running to its 100% capability. Once non return valve is sorted out then it will be less maintenance for you. I can imagine the amount it would have cost you and k1 Is not cheap either.

The k1 micro sinks better as it matures. They reccomend only 18l although I found mine runs better with an extra 5l in. Pp soak the media first for 24hours, helps it sink and also makes it mature much quicker. Really worth doing. Seems to catch more fines the slower the flow, I have mine running at 6000lph. I would think ea will sort out your problems, they seem alright to deal with. Great videos, keep them coming, your fish are amazing, hope daisy improves soon

K1 will soak a bit of water up over the first few days and sink to become neutrally buoyant so shouldn't have media out above the water line. Seriously recommend removing that small piece of rigid pipe from your outfall also as koi will want to swim up into the flow and will damage their heads on it even though its above the water level. Best just to leave the rubber boot on outfall end as much safer for the koi and don't forget to remove the steel band off it as well 👍

easy pods are a big overpriced waste of money mate!. its a static piece of crap with decent media in it but not moving!!. if you could move the media in the easy pod with an air pump it would be four times more effective removing amonia etc and lets face it! you can make a moving bed filter out of anything that holds water as long as you have an air pump, and it doesnt have to be k1 either! it can be any plastic media with decent surface area thats semi boyant and builds up a bio film on its surface ;)
