Fabulous! I will be celebrating with my husband our 50 Wedding Anniversary. And this idea is beautiful for the tables decoration. I believe the 11 inch doily ended up as an 8 inch in diameter doily bowl in my sample. Much depends upon the curvature of what you are placing the doily on. Technically an 11 inch doily could end up as a 10 inch bowl if the curvature is small, or end up as a 5 inch bowl if it has a deep slope. So I would figure out a bowl that will be used to make them, calculate its diameter, and how many will be needed, then get doilies a few inches larger than the bowl's diameter.

I generally just use a damp cloth to spot clean any issues, and it is fine. If you want it to be extremely water-resistant, you can spray a clear coating over it (like a clear varnish).

If you use the PVA glue that I show, it's fairly water-resistant once dried, so a damp cloth can clean away any normal house grime without damaging the shape.

The type of glue I show in the video is odorless once dry, so perhaps you should try that type instead.
