I have already painted my kitchen cabinets with chalk paint using a green on the base cabinets and a soft white on the wall cabinets. I wanted to "marry" the 2 colors by creating a layered old world technique to look like old furniture may have been used to create the kitchen. This video is it!!! This will accomplish what I want to create. What colors did you layer to get the beautiful finish on the white door? You inspire me to keep painting. Thank you!

The piece that you said was once in your foyer is one of the prettiest pieces of furniture I've ever seen! In part because of its style, but in my humble opinion, mostly because of how you refinished I. I have an old dessert sitting in my dining area waiting for inspiration from me. I would LOVE to refinish it like you did that gorgeous piece. Would you please tell me how you did it? I would be so appreciative.

Love this but I have a question.......how do you clean the kitchen cabinets? Does the wax harden and you’re able to use regular cleaner or do you have to use something special?
@thepaintedsouth5 жыл бұрын
I will have to do another video specifically for kitchen cabinets. I should have clarified. Whoops! I would use either a polycrylic, polyurethane or lacquer topcoat on those, depending on the desired sheen, etc. Some people use wax on kitchen cabinets, but I only use wax on furniture or decor pieces. 😉 Xoxoxo
@thepaintedsouth5 жыл бұрын
Oh, the wax does harden as it cures out, but in my opinion not durable enough for kitchens. Maybe bathrooms with light use. I'm sorry I didn't discuss that in the video. Thank you for asking so maybe others will see your comment also. Have a blessed evening! 🧡🤗

Hey Gayla! I answered a question earlier regarding the top coat for kitchen cabinets. Firstly, I recommend more prep work for better adhesion and then also a different topcoat other than wax. I will do another video for kitchen cabinets specifically! 😉🧡 Xoxoxo
