For everyone just starting I did all the math and how much cord for each step :) Layer 1: 8 x 4 yards = 32 yards Layer 2: 6 x 2 yards = 12 yards Layer 3: 32 x 9" = 8 yards 6 x 30" + 6 x 32" + 6 x 34" = 16 yards + 26" Total: about 81 yards using 3mm cord on a 3/8" dowell

thanks to those who put the measurements into both English, and who translated the lengths into Metres. That was a great help. I decided to twist up this pattern by making each of the 3 sections a different colour to match (the friend who I was making it for) home decor. I used yellow cord for the back, light grey for the spiral twist and dark grey for the front section and it turned out great. Thanks so much for the tutorial - this really is such a helpful community.

Thank you for this amazing tutorial ! Your directions were absolutely on point ! This was my first time ever and your directions got me through it. I made this with a 4mm cotton macrame cord on a 24 inch dowel and used 5 inches more than your suggested measurements on each and it turned out perfect ! I had a little bit of trouble towards the merging point since I ran out of the cord but made it work! One suggestion is to put in the description box of the total yards or feet of cord needed. Please do continue to create great tutorials like these!!!

@@AmitLFC I used approximately 280 feet of 4mm cotton cord keep in mind my cord was pure cotton so I had to use a lot more than the video recommended I suggest u buy 300 ft of 4mm cord and add 5 inches more to each of the strand measurements

Thought this might be helpful to anyone interested in doing this with 5mm single strand cord: 1st Layer: 8 x 4 yards 24" (I did 4 yards 6" and ended up too short on a few strands. 5 yards would be safer, but if you have limited cord like I did, 24" hopefully will be enough.) 2nd Layer: 6 x 2 yards 24" 3rd Layer: 4 x 3 yards 24" 1st Layer Fringe: 32 x 10" 2nd Layer Fringe (3 different lengths): a. 6 x 32" | b. 6 x 34" | c. 6 x 36" FYI, you'll be able to salvage some of those fringe pieces from the remainder cut off the ends of your main layers, so that will save you some material. Great pattern! This was my fourth beginner level wall hanging and I had no problem following the steps. Good luck!

I took notes through the video, not sure why these creators never list materials and lengths in the 'Show More' area of the video. 3mm cord in 240 feet total. (8 @ 12ft, 6 @ 6ft, 4 @ 9ft, 32 @ 9 inches, 6 @ 30 inches, 6 @ 32 inches, 6 @ 34 inches). Also, enough for hanging the finished product, as well as for binding that knot (unmentioned amounts).
