If you want to make the copper useful and accessible you gotta use a copper salt. Aka copper that has reacted with an acid

it isn’t using the copper has a fertilizer dispenser , the idea is the copper is shaped like that as an antenna to pick up ‘atmospheric electricity’ and transfer that into the ground for the plant to absorb.
