That is so cool :) I'm definitely going to make my own! Thanks for the video! A little English vocabulary correction if you're interested in such help: The plastic around the LEDs "diffuses" the light. When attaching the wires to the circuit board, you are "soldering" (pronounced like "sodder") not welding. Welding involves melting the two base metals together as you did with the handle in the beginning.

My only question is would it be battle sturdy?
@EricNietofilms8 жыл бұрын
this will depend on what materials will you use, I used methacrilate and it is not to much resistant but you could use policarbonate for exemple, that is way more resistant and then I would be completely ready for battle with them
@jameslewis26358 жыл бұрын
No. There is no way that the material of the clear plastic pipe will survive duelling. The Lightsaber would have to be much stronger. As someone who has practised a sword style I can say this for sure. We practised with bokken which were wooden swords approximately 1.25m long and between 25 - 40mm in depth along the part that takes the impact. Even they had a tendency to break after a while. You would need a material sturdy enough to take hammer blows without shattering, sturdy enough to keep from bending with impacts and yet be translucent with a hollow for you to fit the lighting through. Unfortunately I don't believe such a material exists.
@EricNietofilms8 жыл бұрын
there is policarbonate it is a ultraresistant material that blends a little bit before breaking, and trust me, I have tried them and resist hard impacts, I'll try to do a video showing it. well I'm really preparing a video in my new channel where I'm doing dueling with policarbonate tubes, it will be online in a week more or less, (you can find my new channel in the recomendations of this channel, it's Sutantoworld)
@horvathbenedek35968 жыл бұрын
James Lewis But several plexi tubes inside each other and fill in the spaces with translucent resin (I don't know the exact name of it in english). this will give.you a structure that has the elasticity of the resin, yet the stiffness of the plexi. Anyway, I don't know much about plastics, but I am pretty sure there are many materials that are translucent and are way stronger then plexi.
@Laochri8 жыл бұрын
James Lewis I'm not sure about how this joker builds his blade, but yes a real led blade will stand up to a great deal of punishment. Check out The Custom Saber Shop and other saber shops. you can build sabers that have light, sound and are duel worthy. 100 times better than this guys baby toy.

What´s the type and voltage of the battery you use for the led string? And could you provide some schematis for this? And also, how many time the saber can keep on?
@EricNietofilms8 жыл бұрын
the LED string works at 12V so if you are using a Lipo battery you have to choose a 3S. there's some basic schematics in the minute 3:15, the time of the lightsaber keep on depends on the battery you are using.
