I still don't understand these, no matter now balanced the arm, without being actuated like every commercial linear tracker, you're still using the record groove to push the needle sideways

Well, that's an old story. it was a pure experiment. I liked the video of a Japanese guy using a linear bearing. I just supplemented and refined the idea. Yes, the only motor in the tonearm is the record track. but on a regular tonearm with a shaped or straight tonearm this is not the case. the only difference is that there you still need to balance two forces, centripetal and centrifugal. Kuzma devices have the same principle of free floating with the only difference being the air bearing. Why not?

@@dmmdmm2078 why not, well, the answer for the past 90 years, is because it ruins the record.... I appreciate the experiment btw
by the fact that the speed did not adjust. the test was the tonearm. more precisely, even a bearing for jamming. sound quality was not a priority. the main thing was that the tonearm did not stutter at critical points

@@dmmdmm2078 I see. I like linear tonearms, but a technology behind is quite sophisticated, and that makes them more a piece of art each time.

the idea is not mine, I just improved it a little, it was an absolute experiment for me. I saw videos of one Japanese where, in my opinion, he made a tonearm from the parts that are used in the 3D printer. and most importantly, a simple linear bearing was used. I bought lm8uu linear bearings from different manufacturers and tested them for slip. I tested with the arm tube material. aluminum, carbon fiber, and so on, and plus, I just printed some parts on a printer.

Вот ролик. Там в профиле есть еще несколько роликов как он фактически издевается над тонармом ставя перед ним черезмерные задачи. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2KaoHyNZ52ffrs

(this is a translation of the text with a link) here is this video, he has a few more video tests in his profile where he actually mocks the tonearm by setting excessive tasks for him
