Tapers are overate. Not even kidding. Lot's of testing have been done and the recommendations are excessive and not adding any strength. But good catch , the loop here is not load bearing.

Indeed a concern. But my design is not dangerous at all. Observe the lark head connection. If the bracelet is snagged , only a small force is needed to ondo it , it will slip right of.
