DIY MARKER STORAGE out of cereal packaging.

Hi everyone.
In this video I want to show you how I make my markers storage out of cereal packaging.
This is cheapest and easiest marker storage solution for me and maybe for you too.

I loved this bc it will not take as long as it would to build it out of wood and it is using things you have at home. I will be using this ! but I might wait bc I don't have cardstock! :( but I really loved this idea :)

Crazy cookie Yes, I've heard that this is the best way to store alcohol based markers. Just like copic markers.

Touch five markers are double ended. I would know because I have them. Anyway, up and down is called vertical and left and right is called horizontal. Store double ended markers horizontally to distribute the ink evenly in both nibs.

i made one for my 80 markers. it really helps for organizing my markers. spent only 1$(50php) for the items and its sort of strong. im satisfied cuz only spent 1$ instead of paying 20$+ for marker storage with with just the same function.

If you cut the wider parts a little shorter on the back, you have the shorter upright bits sticking out. You can then just put some tape around those, so they'll be aligned, and sturdier. Do the opposite on the other end. Then you can choose what bit to put towards you. Sturdier this way. The loose bits also won't shift as much when you pull out a marker a bit sideways, especially if you also put a bit of tape in the corners. If the markers are a bit to the side of where you sit, i'd put the wide bit sticking out towards you, and the shorters bits will be just a tape width further back, but you'll have just that tiny bit of play putting the markers back in and pulling them out. The opposite for when they are set up somewhat high. For right in front of you it won't matter really.

My question is, if you take a marker out that's on a bottom row, does the weight of the markers above it make the case sag significantly? What if you have a bunch of bottom row markers taken out? How sturdy should we expect this to be? I tend to make a big mess of my markers while doing a big project so I wanna know if I take a bunch of markers out will the whole inside crumble?

Melissa Sparkles I had no problem with that and still don’t have it now. Mine is quite sturdy. It can hold the weight of the markers above, if I took all the markers at the bottom row. The cardstock that separate the markers inside hold it very well. It doesn’t matter how many markers I take out, it doesn’t crumble at all.

Great idea on recycling cereal boxes. instead of using cardstock, I recommend gift wrapping paper.

Thanks and yes, you can absolutely use gift wrapping paper. Just use what you have already had at home. But in my opinion, gift wrapping paper is not sturdy enough for this project. But this is just my opinion.

When I saw the cereal packaging I got really excited cause we have some by the same brand and I could easily use the same measurements as you. But then it hit me.. I have way bigger markers and had to make my own measurements anyways 🙄😂 Thank you for the idea!

The idea is lovely and so neatly executed. But I'd much prefer something a little less neat, if I could, in turn, quickly replace not only the individual pens but a few or many at once. Having to fiddle to get them back into the rack one by one would drive me absolutely nuts and 100% keep me from ever using this spring aid (or, even worse, the pens) again. :')

This sistem is only suitable for copic kind of markers. For the spectrum noir you have to make a new measurements.
