Yes I agree too. I've watched several other videos on this subject and this design looks the best because the stock is being drawn in by rotation of the tool. The other design seen is a static horizontal tool and cumbersome forming section inserted as you progress with bending and also a large unwieldy swinging lever to create the bend, posing a terrific side wise force on the vertical stand. This is a smart guy who has studied and worked out the basic principle and using his mechanical skill has made something simpler and more effective, the best tool I've seen. Well done This is the one I will construct in my workshop. Thank you for uploading.

you could cut those dies much faster with a torch. Judging by your circle cut on the one inch plate you have one and can use it pretty well. A #3 tip will cut 2 in no problem. But either way no matter how it was made it came out nice. You will be able to make some pretty railing for sure. I guess I got to check out more.

THANK YOU FOR POSTING !!! BEAUTIFUL DESIGN & WORK !!! Here are a few little pieces of professional advice, for you to add to your knowledge, to make your equipment even better: When you're setting up to do a weld, deep-Champher your edge. (That is, "V" grind or cut your edge off at least 1/3 of the thickness of the metal). Then when you weld it, you do a "Fillet" weld. (That means, you weld down into the depth of the metal, so when you machine off the top of the metal, you're not cutting off your strength, like you're doing now. Also, if you hold your welding rod more straight in, (than at an extreme angle, like you're doing now), your bead will be stronger and prettier. . (Clamp & Do your tacking with your MIG or use a 6012 rod. And tack in 3 directions. That keeps it from pulling and warping.) When welding around, or close to; bearings, before you start welding, wrap a soppy-wet rag around the area that needs to stay cool. Then weld. Not the other way around. This will protect against warping and/or boiling out of grease, rubber seals, etc. And here's another little treat, if you'll grind the very tip of your lathe cutting tool, to a very slight radius, your machined surface will be a lot smoother, and you'll find that it's actually easier to cut your steel. When cutting Aluminum, use a larger radius. Here's something else; when you're threading, using a tap or die, on steel, (cold rolled or hot rolled), use CRISCO VEGETABLE SHORTENING instead of a tapping fluid or oil !!! When tapping Aluminum, use Turpentine. I worked in machine shops and job shops all my life. My Dad taught me from 5 or 6 on up. I took it in school, in Tennessee, and was around it over 60 years. I love to pass on what I know. It helps everyone. I was reading some of the comments, and someone was giving this fellow static about having a lathe to use and that it wasn't DYI. If an individual is interested enough, in a subject, to invest in a machine, and learns to use it, and researches and designs and builds other machines, using the knowledge he has learned from experimenting and using his God-given gift of design tallent, and he does so strictly out of Love for his hobby, ITS DIY AT IT'S BEST !!!. Can we just get real here? That creation is magnificent but clearly is not for the do it yourselfer. However it inspired me to use the basic configuration and with scraps I had around the shop fashion scrolls much the same up to 3/8 round stock. No machining involved. Heating with torches, bending welding and a drill press. If I could show a picture it would be this scroll benders ugly cousin. Really ugly cousin but it works great. That's the beauty of youtube sometimes. Not necessarily copying but providing ideas and inspiration. Thanks
