I admire how you pushed through and overcame obstacles with the recording, then with envelope shortage. That was just as valuable as the tutorial itself. 😊 I think inking the edges of papers before you glue them down would look cool too. Great project. I think I’ll try making one for a friend that is going on a trip to New York City, this will be a great holder of receipts, tickets and memories.

I'm glad you got something out of the process part of the video, as well as the project itself! I love inking and most always do, just would have made this video so looooong.

Kind of like sewing a duvet cover, and going round three sides of a queen size sheet and finding your bobbin ran out after the first three inches! Such is life. 🇨🇦

It is always nice to mention where we crafters live. I live north of Toronto 🇨🇦. Envelopes are inexpensive and that is a bonus when making a cute journal. Fun pockets, tucks and belly bands. Thanks for your perseverance 💌

I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Envelopes are a great option for journal crafting! I'm always amazed at how far around the globe the junk journal community reches but it's always nice to meet fellow Ontario crafters! Thanks for watching!

The little post it note that you framed? I TOTALLY get that! I, too, used to see the value in notes like that to keep me going when I worked! I had framed Robert Frost's poem - the line that said, "The woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I've got promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep." It helped me get through the last two years of work before my retirement! That is such a little treasure you have there and you saw it as such. Made me smile. Loved the tutorial!!! I'll be trying this! Have a great day!

Thanks for sharing! I had that paper pad from DCWV (Diecuts With a View)...when they came out with it in 2012 at Michael's. Where in the world did you find it? I don't think DCWV is in business anymore. They had the most wonderful glitter embossed papers and ephemera in the collection, and the paper was good quality, so much better than the paper pads that are on the market these days!

Thanks for the info! I had no idea about this company. I bought the paper pad from a local gal who was selling a bunch of her paper pads. It's really pretty! and yes good quality. Thanks for watching!

What is a reel?
@ravenvintageca18 күн бұрын
A "reel" is like a TikTok video except it is on an Instagram account. I often use my reel footage in my KZbin "shorts". I do NOT have a TikTok account but I do have an Instagram account @ravenvintageca Reels are anywhere from 5 seconds to 90 seconds. I often show "mini tutorials" on reels that are around 1 minute long or so. Obviously, they are more for entertainment but some consider it "micro learning".

My cover isn’t big enough. I see after the first pocket the first page is 1/8 inch too short.

Did you use the same size of envelopes that I used? If not, you will have to adjust the paper cutting to match your envelope size.
