Great job Man, cuestión what grade metal you use,

It comes with the kit and is 3/16” A36 steel.

I believe you said you used gas and flux core wire. What is the benefit? Great video, keep them coming.
@TurninNBurnin2 ай бұрын
@@bngrepair I believe that was the wire in the machine was already a gas shielded wire, so I just used it. Here’s a a link a did a quick google search on that explains more www.millerwelds.com/resources/article-library/solid-wire-versus-flux-cored-wire-when-to-use-them-and-why

@TurninNBurnin i have used both for years. I have never run them together. On typical steel less then 3/8" i have used both. I thought maybe there was a benefit of welding flux core and gas together. The build looks great.

@ I honestly don’t know. I started welding many moons ago but was mainly doing quarry repairs or fab using stick in the field. Thank you! I sold this truck a few months ago. I’m building an 84 K10 truck now. Getting close to finishing. I haven’t been doing videos as it’s time consuming to film and edit.

The cat eyes and the dodge trucks look the best with the move bumpers in my opinion. I don’t like the move bumpers on obs Chevs or square bodies It don’t look right to me . Awesome job man! Looks fantastic! I’m going to do the same bumpers To my 04 cat eyes

They leave a big gap because the frame and the body move independently.

Unrelated question, but how did you correct the gap between the headlights and the side fenders????? Sick looking truck!

Cool build vid, looking at a Move bumper myself. Have to say though, you'd have gotten better penetration and needed far less grinding after the fact if you had beveled those joints before tack-up.
@synapticburn2 жыл бұрын
so you're saying just hit each edge with a grinding wheel so the gap is bigger on the front / outside? I guess they don't do that at the factory to save labor costs?
@Jcreek2012 жыл бұрын
@@synapticburn Yes, essentially. The arc can't penetrate the full thickness of the material. By putting 45degree bevels on each edge, leaving a ~1/8" or smaller root face, you accomplish two things. You can guarantee full penetration through the material, and you create an area for the filler metal to lie in, instead of pilling up on top. It's standard weld prep on thicker material and it's never done at the factory.
@synapticburn2 жыл бұрын
@@Jcreek201 good to know. I'm going to do this every I weld mine next weekend because my mig maxes out at 1/4 inch material too so that should give better penetration

Question, how heavy you think that steel bumper is approximately?? Looks very good by the way
@TurninNBurnin2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I was looking for the packaging list to see if it has a weight. I would think less than 100. Maybe 75-85. I was able to lift and move them by myself.

I’m looking for that exact bumper you wouldn’t happen to know the exact name of it would you? I can’t find it on the website.
