You two did an amazing job will be doing this to my closet. We purchased our second home in 2022 and it is carpet everywhere 😢😢 even in the master and half bath it’s horrible. I’m in the process of doing the half bath now. I’ve installed the peel and stick floor and have been dreading the grout as my cuts are not very clean!! After watching your video I’m about to pull it up and redo it like you did with no spacers then grout. I love your videos keep them coming you have given me the confidence to redo all my floors!!! Pray for me😂

Love it. Im going to do this to our closet because the dog keeps trying to pee on the carpet in there because of previous owners dog. 😅

It will look and smell like a brand new area when you are done.

Hey guys. I had this same issue with a flip house. The entire house was covered in 1970's shag carpet. I used a recip saw (not kidding) to cut that up. A knife would not have worked as well. It was so THICK. It was beyond gross. I had an N95 like you and then went to a full face respirator as the smell was THAT BAD. It was beyond disgusting. We had to then drag it out of the house, room by room. That recip saw was a lifesaver since the carpet was SO THICK. Man I still try to forget that day :) Guys, I know EXACTLY what you were going through -> and yes, it also had cat urine as well. And the padding was just gone so a bunch of nasty piles of dusty black powder. Oh man what a day. And then you have to deal with the carpet tacks. That shower that night - heaven. Great work and thank you for wearing PPE. You have to.

Man, we can only imagine what you went through! 😆 Thanks for sharing your experience. You found a way to get that carpet out and live to tell about it! Agreed...showers hit different after these DIY projects.😄

What’s the tool called that you are using to cut?

I was wondering about the foundation did you need to leave cleaner soak on the cement to remove odors?
@DIYPowerCouple3 ай бұрын
We chose not to use one, but you can use an odor removing primer. The concrete wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. 😀

Is that wood floor? I’d like to use it for the upstairs, replacing carpet.
@DIYPowerCouple2 ай бұрын
The subfloor is concrete. We added a subfloor when we used peel & stick over wood like this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6eoi4GrpbOBfNEsi=3fxvPAA7ZqlBQVGy
