natural fragrances come from nature ... they smells won't be as potent, but you can grow lavender or anything else that you like the scent of and use the plant itself!

birds are very delicate. animalEO oils are safe for birds, and you can read the detail on each EO on their website and how to best use them with birds ( www.animaleo.info) ... I would have to defer to Dr. Shelton at animalEO who is an avian vet

Toxins are poisons produced by plants and animals. Toxins does not encompass synthetic poisons. You probably mean toxicants. A short video? She finally gets around to the recipe around 3:40. Essential oils are VOCs. Avoid diffusing and inhaling EO fumes of unknown composition! Vinegar is 5% acetic acid. Diluted with three volumes of water reduces the concentration of acetic acid to around 1%. Spraying it around like that does nothing. The EOs just mask odors. The composition of EOs isn’t disclosed, but, for some reason, that’s OK, right?

No matter how high quality your EO is, there are EOs very toxic to pets. I use YL EOs and have two cats. ESSENTIAL OILS AND CATS Kia Benson, DVM Associate Veterinarian, Clinical Toxicology Essential oils are volatile, organic constituents of plants that contribute to fragrance and taste. They are extracted from plants via distillation or cold pressing. Essential oils are utilized in a variety of ways: as insecticides, in aromatherapies, personal care products (e.g., antibacterials), flavorings, herbal remedies and liquid potpourri. Essential oils can pose a toxic risk to household pets, especially to cats. They are rapidly absorbed both orally and across the skin, and are then metabolized in the liver. Cats lack an essential enzyme in their liver and as such have difficulty metabolizing and eliminating certain toxins like essential oils. Cats are also very sensitive to phenols and phenolic compounds, which can be found in some essential oils. The higher the concentration of the essential oil (i.e. 100%), the greater the risk to the cat. Essential oils that are known to cause poisoning in cats include oil of wintergreen, oil of sweet birch, citrus oil (d-limonene), pine oils, Ylang Ylang oil, peppermint oil, cinnamon oil, pennyroyal oil, clove oil, eucalyptus oil, and tea tree oil. Symptoms that develop depend on the type of oil involved in the exposure and can include drooling, vomiting, tremors, ataxia (wobbliness), respiratory distress, low heart rate, low body temperature, and liver failure.

I would also recommend moving away from YL, and if you choose to stay with them, do not use them on your pets. But that's my recommendation based on my personal knowledge and experience.
