DIY Nightgown 🌘 | Cottagecore Night Dress Sewing Tutorial With Pattern

In this video, I'm going to show you how to sew a nightgown / night dress. This dress is inspired from victorian night gown but I added some elements such as ruffles and pleats.
I hope you find my tutorial to be useful :)
I'm using about 3 meters of fabric for this project

This is a beautiful nightgown but I too have trouble understanding the tutorial. You must start with a basic bodice which she is building the nightgown bodice from. You add the measurements on the outside of your basic bodice to get the roominess in the new bodice. I am a little unsure of her armhole measurements but once I get this on paper, I can share what I figure out. I never would want to be critical of someone who does these kinds of tutorials because she is taking time to share her expertise. She is taking for granted that you know pattern work and have some good sewing skills. Although this is not a difficult sewing project I would say you need to have intermediate sewing skills and some drafting skills or a whole lot of patience and a willingness to stretch your knowledge. I wish she answered more questions to help people struggling with understanding. I am sure some of the viewers who commented on this would be able to help the less experienced sewers. Isn't that what sewing is al about? Sharing and helping one another? If you have answers to questions, please offer to help!

For the front bodice pattern piece, what line does that 9cm and 7cm belong to? Using the inches measurements, the 2 6/8" and 3 1/2" change their position so its difficult to know where it goes.

In my opinion, you can add any collar you would like. You just need to be able to draft it to the neck measurement after it has all been gathered. There are lots of patterns on line. I know I am not byhening but I thought I would try to help.Good luck!
