Very similar to what we use on our boats in New Zealand. Ours are about 600mm long, not so many holes to make it last longer, we add about a 5kg disc of lead weight to the bottom and a large stainless "swivel knuckle" to the top as the current spins it terribly and it twists your rope. We need to add the weight to get it to the sea floor, anything from 6m to 100m deep hence fewer holes and the larger size ... hell of a job to refill it. Works great.

I’ve mostly used this for bridge and pier fishing. As for the rope twisting, I haven’t experienced that issue, however, adding a swivel does sound like a great addition in the design for the stronger currents. I have added weight to it in the past, but I rarely go over a half of a kilo.

This was like learning the best methods of making a chum cage from a Kung fu master(as your words and lips didn't match). This satisfied a few needs with on video. 👍👍

Great DIY 👍🏼 Pretty easy to make. Love that you used a bigger pvc diameter to fit more chum in there.

Because of the wider pvc, it’s super easy to clean. Once you empty the tube, you dunk it in the water 1-2 times and it’s completely clean of chum chunks and residue.

That was pretty sick dude and it really looked nice. Looked nice enough i could imagine it being on a store shelf without it looking like a diy project. I may give this a go in the near future. awesome video brotha!

Thanks!!! With the same design concept, but with a longer pvc pipe and smaller holes; you can make a live bait torpedo for kayak fishing.

Have you considered a SS U bolt for the top to attach the cord?

I did when I initially started thinking about the design, but in the end I decided to make it without any metal hardware.

Why not put dive weight or concrete in one end and drop to bottom to attract snappers?
@runninginflipflops305 Жыл бұрын
You can certainly do that. This isn’t THE way, it’s just A way of making a chum tube. I designed it to have some flexibility and periodically, I’ll put some weight inside of it.

His name is Terry Mann and he went by the name of Gxnie. Unfortunately, I think he may have deleted his website, instagram account, and Etsy account. His Instagram account was @official_gxnie and I believe his Etsy account was “gxnie_store.”

I found the artist’s Etsy account for you. He changed his account’s name that’s why I couldn’t find him. However, it still looks like he deleted his social media accounts. Here is his Etsy account link: www.etsy.com/shop/HookHeads?section_id=21779219
