Now that's what I call my kind of project. Resource materials, beat to fit - paint to match. Perfect! Never even saw a measuring tape. Great job thinking as you go.

Nice work with video, build and adjusting in stride to meet the needs for archie -i too share your pain when dog jumped off ramp initially. Im dealing with same issue with our overweight senoir dog(citizen) and I plan on using your video as motivation in order to help avoid the a costly vet bill if dog continues to jump off porch haphazardly. Thanks for hardwork much appreciated.

I've had similar safety tread things on my front steps. They're garbage. I'm still looking for an alternative. I might just super glue them down. Did you every do the poly? I was thinking of just doing the stain since I feel like the poly might make it slippery.

Yeah it definitely was garbage, didn't hold up through the weather. Yeah I did the poly and it was more slick. I just wanted to get it good and coated so it didn't splinter into his paw or something. Super glue may hold it on better, it's worth a try!

How is the safety walk tread holding up?

Not good actually, all of it is peeling off.

do you think making the platform twice as long would support an adult? we have a small old porch outside a sliding door that we don't use anymore. and i made a ramp off of it with shingles as the tread but I'm going to redo the whole thing. i would be more comfortable with the sides being higher. so the dog doesn'[t slip off

I walked it on it several times and it held my weight, so I would think if you made it bigger and longer it would definitely support an adult.
