From the first van build which was packed for adventure on the road. Now the new adventure machine is well built for the back country adventures. Great job and many many happy times to your family

Thank you very much for explaining, I am still new and learning about building and designing a off grid unit. I want something that can be fully contained for two or three months. To be used on BLM range land managing livestock Or on ranch in the Western U.S. as part of study for my education. The necessary water storage is the the problem both the space it requires and all of the extra weight it adds.

:) JUST WOW! CONGRATS on another wonderful buil! Had to LOL, as I lived in East TX and would ride through Paris on Sundays:) Makes sense that they would have DB Custom bumpers, as so many Ranch pickups in TX... Macho is looking SO GREAT!!!! Well done and ALL THE BEST to you and family! Safe travels and Cheers! :)

Just a wee bit of advice, in my opinion I would never run the hook to the shackle like that and drive offroad, you never know when you might scrub up against something that could damage the rope. Some may not agree but when you NEED the winch you don't want the rope breaking! P.S. , I LOVE the rig!!!!!!
@OverlandUncharted Жыл бұрын
Thank you! It was temporary. I have added a different hook style for the winch. It’s all good now. 😁
@hopehope9382 жыл бұрын
With your total build and all of your extras the new tires and the new bumper and winch how much in total weight did you add? Do you have it broken down for each part of your build? I want to do a box truck build and I have been yelled at and reminded over and over in so many ways to be aware of the weight of the finished box truck. I have had to redesign on paper design more than once. I want both a winch on both the front and back. I want to be able to pull a horse or livestock trailer and/or second vehicle.

The ram is a 19,500lb truck. We weigh in around 18,500. With 81 gallons of water and 74 gallons of diesel the weight fluctuates over a 1,000lbs. The ram runs great and has no problems with hills.
@OverlandUncharted2 жыл бұрын
So to clarify- your weight limit will vary based on the chassis you choose to build on. Same for towing capacity. Hope that helps. Good luck! We do offer consultation service if you need more in depth help with it all- check it out on our website www.overlanduncharted.com/storefront-1/off-grid-diy-project-consultation

One last suggestion to complete the build if this is a source of income for you... to grow your channel and create some interest think about a "wrap". A gifted designer can do some incredible graphics that could incorporate what you are doing and trying to say. Do a quick search for "casita wrap" and you will see what I mean. We saw this one at a rally we attended a few years ago (with our casita). The children that appear to be looking at the window are the owners grandchildren. Downside - you couldn't ever hide or be stealth (as if macho could do that anyway).

So we’ve actually thought about this before but more so with a company we trust and/or have worked with. The trick is finding the right brand to work with that’s open to the idea. BUT…you’re right we could wrap it in something custom. Then we loose our blank wall for movie night, haha….still haven’t got that projector yet anyways. We aren’t really stealth as it is, Macho is a head turner everywhere we go. I can’t imagine the attention it would get after being branded! Lol thanks for your support, stay tuned!

As always guys AND that is one mother F truck you now have, just one thing thou, I thought you were from Tennessee yet you have a South Dakota plate on the truck, im from the UK so im not sure how that all works..Oh and for the record a SD state sticker is the only one iv not got..
@OverlandUncharted2 жыл бұрын
We are from TN. We domiciled in SD last summer for several reasons. One of the easiest state to get and renew your driver license, vehicle registration, great freedom w/homeschool laws, no income tax, etc….It’s actually a very beautiful state with a lot to offer- just don’t want to be there in the winter haha!

I’ve been trying to find info on how to make a stable yet somewhat lightweight deck but can’t find anything anywhere. Did yours come with the truck or did you make it? Very curious how to build one.
@OverlandUncharted2 жыл бұрын
Our box came with the gate- it’s a landscape box from Morgan, meant to drive your mowers up in here and whatnot. We just took the extension off that went all the way to the ground and shortened the chain up to a 90 degree angle. We love the deck, it’s our favorite place to hang out! Hope you can find a solution, decks are great!

Just discovered your channel… love the content!! Sub’d… I look forward to following you all (y’all) here from the East coast 👊👊. So, we don’t have the allergies if we go out West?? Hmm…I may need to hurry this build up 🙌

Welcome to the family! Thanks so much for joining us! And yes west coast has NOTHING on east coast allergy season, holy moly it’s so much better 😝 good luck with your build, what have you got going on??

It looks like a beast! Awesome job. I always wondered about the single wheel conversion. Do you have to worry about tracking? I've heard if you don't adjust for it and realign the front to back wheels with each other it can cause all kinds of troubles. Is that true? 🤔 The deck is incredible! Thanks for sharing
@OverlandUncharted2 жыл бұрын
It pulls a little more with the single wheel but not bad if you have your air pressures right. Haven’t had any issues yet! Getting your pressures is crucial to the life of the tire too.
@livingworkingoutsidebox2 жыл бұрын
@@OverlandUncharted Have you looked at reversing the rear wheel so the alignment tracks true? Tiny house toy haule has a video that goes over it. His truck video that starts off about SEMA upgrades and single wheel conversion around the 8.41 mark. I've been looking at this for our build. #supersingle on his rig walk around video.
@OverlandUncharted2 жыл бұрын
The front wheel is reverse on the back so it tracks proper.
@livingworkingoutsidebox2 жыл бұрын
@@OverlandUncharted awesome. I feel like that is something I'm going to mess up on our build. 😆
