I love paper mache bowls. Yes absolutely takes a few layers of pulp, l leave mine in the hot sun and l use wood glue to adhere so it won't have any cracks and lasts forever

@@SusanBesharse Your daughter has excellent taste! You absolutely must come to the UK. I know I’m biased but it’s a beautiful country. Be sure to visit York (where I come from - and trying to move back to), the Cotswolds where I live, the Lake District, and go to the west coast of Scotland too - all stunning places. Get your flights booked! 🙂🇬🇧

I love the way this turned out and I'm curious to know if you let paint dry at all between colors. Did you add spices to a damp bowl or a dry one?
@SusanBesharse Жыл бұрын
Thank you Sharon! 🤍 I did not let the paint dry in between coats. I just kept adding layers of paint until I liked how it looked and added the spices to the wet paint.

I'm new to your channel and am really learning and enjoying some DIY's from you. Your bowl turned out fantastic. I have a question. Does the house/room have to be a certain temperature to get the paper mache' to dry? I've tried just paper mache' and mine never dried, but it's winter and a little cool in our house.
@SusanBesharse2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I'm glad you are enjoying my videos! 😊 I haven't tried making paper mache with flour so I'm not sure on that. I have read that you can put small paper mache projects in the oven on a low temperature to dry them. With my bowl, I just let it sit on the table for a couple of days.
@SharonLippincott2 жыл бұрын
@@SusanBesharse both raw and boiled flour paste work and dry in the house in winter -- summers tend to be humid where I live, so the heat is little advantage. Just be sure to add plenty of SALT as mold prevention. 🙂

Instead of painting afterwards, dribble different colors of craft paint into your sqeezed moist mulch. Do not stir but "pinch" in the paint then apply to the mold for a more marbled look.
