You could have had Home Depot cut you a piece of wood to put on the bottom and the back only had to purchase a staple gun wood and fabric and just upholstered it in out door fabric… you don’t have to have a sewing machine you could staple it to the bottom.

I love your concept house!! BUT you will have to wind proof everything outside unless you want to be replacing stuff each year. Windy days with 60 to 70mph gusts are very real. I experienced that for a week in Vegas, and I know AZ was going through the same thing. I think it will happen every year from now on (good ol global warming!). Anyway, if you make anything outside try to make it more permanent or heavy. You'll eventually lose the lightweight decorative stuff.

I really loved this as you were building it. The colors and the strapping, chef's kiss! HOWEVER, that piece of gray wood does NOT invite me to sit on it. It looks highly uncomfortable and the color doesn't go at all. Even a thin cushion would have helped make it more attractive and definitely a different color that would have worked better.

I would love to find out more about your LA house as a space for creatives. My daughter is an actress living in Chicago and she doesn't want to completely move to LA without booking something but would like to maybe try it this fall/winter.
