the steps are: 1. put the fabric around you (leave the view-able side inside so you sue there) 2. you sue and you cut the extra fabric then sue the feet part 3. (optional) put the zipper and try to make it not very view-able then flip to the view-able side 4.the monofin: put the plastic piece and make sure you have the fin sketched on a piece of paper then cut it in half, place the plastic piece ontop then draw the fin with a pencil, and do the same with the other piece (note: its not that kind of heavy plastic try to use the bendable one) 5.put them next to eachother then ducttape the pieces together after you cut then fin and shape it, tape when you're happy with the look of the fin 6. as you have your feet part on the fin, ducttape the feet part on to the fin and duct tape it well 7. extra tape on the fin starting from the feet as shown in the video. 8. i couldnt tell what she was using as the first white thing, but the other one in the big tube is Pattex Glue (you can use any other glue since its waterproof and non-transparent for coloring) 9. gently place small dots starting from the fin and slide em to the top using a card of any kind or anything plastic 10. put dots starting from the bottom of the fin where the feet are and press and move a little forward with a piece of ducttape on your finger, to make the scales 11. work your way up to the body, it will take a while. 12. choose your favorite color and spray it or brush it on there. 13. swim like a fabulous A** when you can/want.

Professional and beginner mermaids agree that the cheap tails bought off of these sites are usually fabric copies of professional mermaids, and are very! difficult to swim in, even for experienced mermaids. The cheapest good quality mermaid tail, thats very safe and easy to use, is FinFun. :)

This is the easiest way to ensure you drown when you try to swim in it. Again-- it's good for a tail to wear on land but the moment you put it in the water, you're putting your own life at risk. The 'monofin' is two pieces of plexiglas duct-taped together. Plexiglass shatters when put under extreme stress [which is what swimming in it will do]. There's no footstraps-- no safety release system in the event you need to surface. The sweatsuit material will get waterlogged and weigh you down. There's no route for any water to escape which means this tail will be heavier soaking wet than dry. Take my advice-- if you want to make your own tail, spend that extra money on high quality materials. Get a professional monofin. Get neoprene lining. Don't make yourself a sea anchor.

Also I don't think they had a monopoly fin so you probably would need lots and lots of training and professional training

They also had quality monofins that had strong propulsion. This won’t give you any. I recommend using something like a Finis or FinFun monofin and make an extension with extra silicone and/or some sort of polypropylene.

@@stina3773 it's probably more expensive to make the tail yourself. Especially if you've never done it before, you will make mistakes. Also, if you've never swam in a tail before FinFun is a great place to start because their tails are safe and actually not that expensive.

This is SO AMAZING. It’s such a better idea than buying a silicone tail because one, it’s so much cheaper and two, it’s made by yourself so ur bound to love it. Also it’s so much easier to put on because the fabric, and the zip. I bought a silicone tail and it take half an hour to put on. This is easier to put on, cheaper and a much better idea, let alone the fact it looks the EXACT same.

Those tails are much longer. It extended far after the heel so you would need some kind of prosthetic piece to connect your feet to the end of the tail

Grazie milleee ❤ allora, per il tessuto sappi che deve essere un po' poroso (perciò non tessuto da costume se no il silicone non attacca) (tipo tessuto da asciugamano ma più leggero ovviamente). Per la plastica ti consiglio di andare in un negozio di fai da te (tipo leroy merlin) e chiedere "lastre di plastica" io ho fatto così e ho trovato quello :) ce ne sono di diversi tipi, scegli tu quello che ti sembra migliore basta che sia della grandezza giusta per la pinna 💙

Industrial silicone. You can buy it in a hardware store. I usually see it being used to glue glass together.

This makes me feel nostalgic. Hahaha... I think I was in highschool that time when I created a mermaid tail using my father's old pants and used those yards of rejected cigarette filters as tail and fins. I just cut off the othe leg of the pants since I can fit both of my legs in 1 leg of the pants (I was skinny back then). And hand sew the filters. I kept the pant's zippers and buttons so I can easily move in and out of it. Then the best part is swimming in the flood outside of our house. Hahaha... Now looking back I can't explain how creative and stupid I am at that time. Hehehe

Nancy Waves la coda è veramente ben fatta . Io ho iniziato a farne una a gennaio seguendo questo tutorial, e sta venendo benissimo soprattutto grazie a te! Senza questo video sarei stata costretta a rinunciare, dato che code di questo tipo costano almeno un migliaio di euro.
