This thing looks so cool, and what a great way to get some experience with motor control, color sensor, Arduino and integrating it with 3d printed parts. I plan to use an esp32, as I have some already. All the electronics just arrived from ali, so now I'm going to give, building it, a shot! I'm most exited about the stepper motor and controlling it, so the dispatcher is step one for me 😁

@hen3drik this is not something completed in a weekend! Wow the print times really stack up! I was working on the wiring and was wondering if there would be any downside in using the 5v generet by the h-bridge motor driver for the 5v supply, instead of a separate step down converter?

I've been wondering if there was a solution for bead sorting of the modern time and I am so glad you made this! I want the translucent turquoise but that's sadly only in 18,000 bulk beads. This will definitely help to speed that along!

Weiter so !!!

Can this be modified to, instead of sorting by color, place beads in a certain order, according to a pattern? For example 3 red then 5 blue then 7 yellow etc. (the beads could already be sorted by color beforehand).

Hello! I love this and am going to attempt to build one for myself. Unfortunately I have zero experience with electronics and I cannot understand the electronics schema you provided in github. I cannot seem to find where the power source comes from, or how large of a power supply it has. I also seem to be having difficulty finding the "resistor matching LED". If you have any additional tips or a good place to learn about how to read that diagram it would be greatly appreciated! :D Thank you!

Hey there! I really like your project! I started working on my own sorting machine last year (also using Linus Barth's version as a reference) but I haven't been doing much over the past few months until I stumbled upon your video. I was wondering what voltage you used on the H-Bridge since the motor is rated for 3V. The H-Bridge, however, runs on 5V. So my question is: What voltage is your LM2596S powering the H-Bridge and therefore the sequentializer motor tuned to? Keep up the great work!
@hen3drik
@hen3drik Жыл бұрын
Hi, i power the H bridge over the 12V input. The lm2596s input is 12V. Output is stepped down to a speed that i find acceptable. I can't say what it's actually in V but as a reference I added a scene to the build video. greetings!

Hi Hendrik! This is the first "sorter" project, that seems to work and is well documented. But I have some questions anymore 🙂 - Which power supply you are using for (Voltage, etc.) - On you schematic diagram on GitHub it´s no really clear for me, which different voltages between the components are neccassarry. May it is possible to note that on the diagram? - For assembling all parts together is there a "best practise way"? THANK you very much David

@hen3drik

Ja, ich muss das echt mal besser erklären. Der Taster ist für den manual und autoerfassungsmode. Die led ist für die Beleuchtung für den farbensensor bzw. den photoresistor (der bei Stau anhält)

That said, I did wonder... Would it be possible to speed the machine up if you set it to output to, say, only four or maybe eight outputs? That way you could have wider chutes and prevent jams from the little tubes, maybe. Honestly, there's no reason for the chute out of the machine to stay narrow the whole way, so long as it safely fits into your end goal container. This way you could run the machine in multiple phases faster, i.e. "Sort this batch, it's now sorted all of these seven colors plus this batch that didn't match any of those, run it again to sort those next", etc. Secondary wonder.... While it probably wouldn't be super precise, would it be possible for the machine to be, with proper calibration on startup to white balance, able to determine the color it's looking at? For instance, if you set it to run, it could not only sort them, but know which color code for perler beads it's looking at, and possibly even data log as it goes, i.e. load a numeric total into an output table, i.e. "S21 - 2546, S09 -1450, S48 - 1003", etc. I don't know if the color sensor is accurate enough to determine exactly what color it's looking at every time, and I know perler beads are a Little bit slippy in terms of color range, so I dunno if it would be possible. Tertiary wonder... How does this handle things like glitter beads? For instance, Clear and Clear Glitter are two different bead types(15187 and 19019), but use the same color of plastic. There are others that are very close, if not overlapping. Also can the sorter's sensor differentiate metallic colors properly? I suppose one of the problems would also just be in terms of finding data. Between Perler, Artkal, Hama, and others, there's a LOT of different colors, and while some of them are far enough apart in color type, it does make me wonder if the machine could differentiate if, say, some hama got accidentally mixed into your perlers. Another problem could likely be that perler occasionally releases beads that they just kinda... pretend never exist anymore, i.e. their pearlescent semi-metallic colors that existed for all of like a year.
