Very Helpful, I'm doing the same project. Do you want to make sure the top of the bottom flange face lines up with the shelf of the concrete wall?

The skimmer is going to determine the water level of your pool, so I think you would typically want to set the height of the skimmer such that the bottom of the skimmer throat where the weir (Flapper door) is at is level with the finished tile height of the throat on the pool side. In my case, I determined my height for my new skimmers based on the old tile that was there before it got demoed/removed. In hindsight, I should have raised mine an inch or so based on the how my plaster & tile guys finished everything. Or maybe ensured we were on the same page before letting them at it. Thanks again for the video. Just wondering is there skimmer parts or 3rd party products can put in front of skimmer box used as a frame or bracket so that can support pavers over the area?

Hi James, thanks for the comment! I installed Travertine pavers around the pool for my deck, and had no issues installing with the Skimmers in place. I compacted 6 to 8 inches of crushed limestone for the paver base and simply filled around and eventually on top of the concrete skimmer entombment. I did have to buy an additional extension collar for the skimmers to raise the top/lid to be even with the finished height of the paver deck. Now if you are referring to skimmer front where the pool coping would be installed; then in this area you would install a "bridge" or plate directly over the top of the skimmer on the bond beam or pool wall. I think these are typically made of either aluminum or stainless steel.. Then your mortar bed and coping stone sit on top of that plate just as they would on the rest of the pool wall or beam.
