oh I love the heart pins! Nice job with coffee stain I do that with paper now I know it works on fabric. I always end up stabbing myself when I do felting. lol wow very rustic and clever. Love it

These are really cute. Could I sew my faces before I stitch the face front to back?

You could try. There is something about having the fabric pulled tight with the stuffing and the shape already formed by sewing allows to line the face up better. You could always try doing a smaller project and perhaps using an embroidery hoop to pull the fabric tighter. If you are an experienced sewer your sewing lines might be more exact than mine which would allow your face aline correctly once sewed together.
